If I understand it correctly, future will look like this, correct?:

Now Pogacar.
Then Ayuso, even better than Pogacar.
Then Christen, even better than Ayuso.

Is that how they plan it?…

"Is that how they plan it?…" Looks like it, but Pogacar is only 24 so other GC hopefuls will have to wait awhile, or go elsewhere. UAE's problem then can be getting a good support team for Pogacar - not that he always needs one!

What's wrong with Jan Polanc?

Tinnekeisabella twice asked the same question in this thread, and I asked for it in the Pogi or Rog thread.

I remember he was on the provisional start list for GP Indurain (and Pais Vasco, but not sure). He didn’t start apparently.

Bahrain‘s Haussler didn‘t race and post, and recently announced retirement (health issue). In Polanc‘s case, I now hope he stays around, and doesn’t retire. But all is possible. He is one of UAE‘s best domestiques, so it‘s mysterious that one doesn’t hear anything.

He is only 30.. Little young for retirement

Polanc ending his career due heart problems. 😔

Sad! He was a super good domestique. Very very underrated

It's a real shame. Not only a good domestique but also a good rider in his own.

He was a specialist in GT first week breaks and a master in steadily holding his own (a bit of an Almeida, with less pedigree obviously).

He won in Abetone ('15) and Etna ('17), managed to finish twice in Giro Top-15 and once in Vuelta Top-15. He was also Maglia Rosa in 2019. Last year he won Trofeo Laigueglia.

He is close with Pogacar and expected to continue in UAE in some role.

Just like that? This must have been a serious issue. Only a fraction of heart problems require an imminent end of career, many of them just require observation, some break or treatment (i.e. minor surgery).

They detected it in winter time, Gianetti saying that they were trying for few months to find solution with their doctors and some best specialists.

That leaving UAE on 29 riders and with a spot open. Maybe they bring Jan Christen in already or Luke Lamperti (that trained with them in December) as trainee from 1/8.

Oliver Knight could also be an option. He had a great season so far and was trainee at UAE last year

Interesting that Marc Soler don't do any prep races before the tour. Maybe UAE need him to be with Pogacar for training?

Marc doesn't need any races, he can use the first week of the tour as prep then go for some stages in the second. Vamos!

He's doing the Vuelta as well so wont be looking to come in flying from day 1.

Disagree. Soler need to be on top of this game in week 1 to support Pogacar. Him hunting stages at La Vuelta comes second for UAE.
