Mostly down to their signing a certain sprog for2019 and the squeezing out of the Italian crew, plus of course money.
Once the Saunier Duval crew took over from the old Lampre stuff it became a successful team.

Lefts you baffled how Saronni was able to unsuccessfully run a team for so many years. Because 20 years ago Lampre even had a decent budget.

UAE neo-pros are having a really good season

- Christen 3 wins
- Del Toro 3 wins plus top10 in several World Tour stage races
- Morgado 3 wins plus fifth in Flanders

Only Arrieta doesn't have a pro win yet, but he has been doing a very good domestique work in races like Itzulia.
Also the organization did some calculations by extending many contracts including Fisher-Black ,Del Toro and a few others and didn't give an encouraging thumbs up to Marc Hirschi , and he is certainly not an old man at 25..

I remember the glory days of Lampre with Cunego, Ballan, Bennati and Scarponi.

Where have all the good Italian riders gone??

I dont disagree or emphasizes the importance of money in various situations cash is always king.

But they still clearly buy many very young and the hitrate is still nevertheless very impressive so some sort of influence is def there for sure.
Just like any other team signing the best youngsters, there's usually a Camilo Ardila, Alex Riabushenko or Cristian Muñoz for every Pogacar, Ayuso or Morgado. They don't do anything different to Team Sky when they were the big dogs and signing Sivakov, Bernal, Halvorsen etc.

Ofc im not trying to hype Matxin but more so state the situation of affairs. Ineos also kinda good at that I think. I think Ineos have more top tier talents than anyone else besides UAE.

Point is also with cash alone job not done as Kobe would say. But your not wrong.
I'll give them credit for being quite good at developing their youngsters once they have them. The points-hunting in smaller races seems to be a good way of introducing them to the pro peloton while letting them taste some leadership early on. Team Sky wasn't always as successful doing that, though I think they did a better job than they sometimes got credit for.

I can see you're italien, what's the talk in italy about him?
There's really no talk about him.
At least with Piccolo you had the roller coaster experience and some clinic related rumors.

Covi is just a guy who had a very promising couple of years after turning pro and then completely disappeared. I know he's well liked inside the team and by many of his teammates. And I know he was supposed to ride a Hirschi-like calendar this year to help him find his mojo, but it's not working out.

He had mononucleosis last year and has suffered from Achilles / knee issues until this May, don't know whether we should expect some better results going forward.

UAE won so much this year. Stages in GT, one day races etc. How good is their season up untill now historically? They have won so many stages, one day races its almost the norm, points wice how good are their season up untill now?
Looking at one metric: They have the third highest CQ team score ever already, and the season isn't even close to being finished. They need 200 or so more points to have the second highest CQ score ever, overtaking Visma from last year. And they're missing only 1800 points to beat their own CQ score record from last year.
