Are UAE concerned their riders might die if they don‘t race every race by the way? They‘ve even allowed Morgado to ride Course de La Paix for the Portuguese national team.

Just a small plot twist but if Ayuso destroys/wins Dauphine, I'm not surely he would readily work for Pogacar (not that I think he would otherwise, but..). And with Soler (although he's been really loyal to Pogacar) being spanish, can we expect the Spanish guys to do their own thing in the Tour?

But Pogacar will be ready to crush the early Tour climbing stages so it won’t matter what Ayuso says about leadership if he is already a minute or more behind.

They haven’t had 9 rider Grand Tour teams for a few years now. UAE are powered enough without an extra man to the rest of the teams.

After the performances of Pogačar, Yates and Almeida surely Ayuso sees that he is a domestique at best. I just don't see him outclimbing Pog or Yates at this time. He should be on par with Joao, but Almedia is in great form at the moment.

40 km stage, let's not forget. They can't do that in a normal stage. Only one guy in the last years did 7 w/kg in almost 20 minutes in the Tour France.

Strange that he didn't mention the biggest concern - Ayuso and Almeida although the latter worked well for Pogacar and was a great team-mate to Yates in Switzerland.

Wellens wins Belgian TT championship, but is "sick" so no road race attempt. Lot of sick notes going around. Hope it's not a return of the dreaded Covid.
