Looking at how windy it is this would have been perfect for Remco with his super aerodynamic TT-position.

Is it legal to put your forearms on the handlebar when your ride a TT on a road bike? :D

Anyway I think this might be some logistics issue. He was training (and racing) in Australia at the beginning of the year, maybe he flew to Dubai straight from his home and left his TT bike there

You are 100% right - Plapp travelled from to OZ direct to Dubai.

Bissegenger now the new Ganna.

I was watching a season preview on GCN and Dan Fanboy Lloyd was going on about how sweet it would be when Ganna takes the maglia rosa on the first stage. The studio guest was EF's DS Tom Southam who had to point out that it's not a foregone conclusion and that Bissegger will take it. I'm off to the bookies on that one.

Not seen the race and only had the time splits to judge on and your comments but relative to expectations/their standards I am impressed by:
  • Bissegger - As good as anyone in the world for the last 2 years on sub 30km courses
  • Pogacar - scary for the rest for him to be top 5 in a pan flat power course
  • Dumoulin - the man is back
  • Demare - looking ready for the classics
  • Philipsen
  • A. Yates
  • Vlasov and Almeida to a lesser extent
