Nah. Great win, but he can thank weak or hesitant teams in the background. Wasn't up to Evenepoel to chase. Where was Bilbao and his team? Surely they have to try and drop Plapp and Bilbao outsprint Evenepoel.

There is nothing to gain on Jebel Jais, one of the most boring climbs in world cycling. So to gain 7 seconds there is about as good one could do business. Bring back Hatta Dam.

And bring back the ITT, and bring some of the Sharjah Tour terrain. Really, the only stages in this year's race with any value are the first and final ones, aside from Pologne last year it's hard to find a worse WT stage race.

I thought Remco’s positioning was quite questionable during the climb. On the other hand tempo must have been kind of really slow.
Could have been the stage win for him though.
Uae and Bahrain invisible - bad performances by both, let’s be honest.

I suppose Evenepoel to win Sunday’s last stage and GC

Once, Serry punctured, then had to chase for 2kms, and then set the tempo on the climb, meant it was unlikely they would bring back Rubio.

Can I just say I want to watch the Tour with these Arabic commentors. I only get names, but it's thrilling. I just wish I could understand their knowledge of the sport and how they were drawn to it.

Technically that has already happened before. In the u23 ranks Rubio outsprinted Pogacar on the Matajur MTF in the Giro del Friuli.

I'm disappointed Yates didn't even try a single attack on one of the tailwind stretches. Teams were so weak here that the other captains would have had to react by themselves. Giving it a proper go with 8 km to go and then sitting up if a rival could keep his wheel wouldn't have been that risky. So either he lacked strength, bravery, or desperation.

Yates was cooked after the TTTs of stage one and two.

Yes, this is the climb that tempo and pacing would do the trick, but let's be honest when Rubio attacked who thought that He would have made it to the finish first? nobody. The truth is that after a few kilometers you could tell that someone or more than one key rider was having a hard day. Too many riders dragging their legs. No way that Remco in good form, or even Adam, would not have tried to distance each other on the final kilometers. The reality is that they looked both dead at the end.

And yes Pogacar would have dusted everyone in this race. And it would not have been close. Last, I don't understand when people in here talk of Vingegaard like if he was on July's form in every race? Pogacar is the only one that I have seen been in top form from beginning to end. My 2 cents!

Good point. If you get Evenepoel on your wheel but not Plapp then Evenepoel has every incentive to work with you.

Vingegaard beat Pogacar on here in 2021.
Pogacar won here last year, with guys like Ganna 3 seconds behind.
