Lame of the spectators booing! I don't know much about MTBing, but the way I saw it, it was just a matter of going different ways around those trees, and unfortunately getting around at the same time.

I think he knew going into a sprint he was in trouble so took a chance.

Yep, also see it like that actually. That was the actual sprint around that corner. Whoever gets the curve, wins it.

By making that move Pidcock pretty much guaranteed there would be a coming-together. Came out on the right side of it. Nothing wrong with it, but I can understand the fans booing.

And, without watching too much MTB, you can't probably not crash the other from the bike going into his back wheel in a situation like that. But Pidcock had the better acceleration there, and had his front wheel 20cm up in the curve, so it was probably ok.
