Can Uno-X catch Intermarche?
No. Gap is 1250 points and Uno-X are not in great condition heading into the final 3 weeks. Kristoff is retiring after Langkawi, Cort and Kron has ended their season, THJ hasnt showed much at all since the Tour and its not a given he will be flying in the Italian classics. Their battle is a desperate battle against Cofidis, catching Intermarche is not on the cards.

Everytime someone has claimed this it’s has been replied with “no it cannot just be sold”.

There is nothing to be sold as Intermarché simply does not have a WT license. It's not like the top 18 of the 3y cycle just automatically gets one.

Btw Lappartient even confirmed it this weekend. 18 WT places and if the merger happens (and its pretty obvious its happening) the 19th place that will be next in line.

Rajovic fell sick and Vini Fantini doesn't have any GC riders in Langkawi or Croatia, so it currently looks like Bardiani will stay ahead in the fight for 30th. There are still a lot of points available in Italy as well, of course, but normally not for them, and if at all, Bardiani has the better team.

Rajovic may need to win Taihu Lake to stay in contention, unless Arashiro can turn the clock back and get another podium in the Japan Cup.

So wildcards next year will likely be:

Giro: Polti and Bardiani
Tour: TotalEnergies and Tietema Rockets
Vuelta: Kern Pharma and Caja Rural? Feel they're more likely than Burgos due to doing a bit better in the Vuelta this year IMO.

the Tour starts in Barcelona, so I wouldn't completely rule out a Spanish wildcard. Tietema doesn't add much anyway.

Are you assuming that Arkea folds and that Cofidis doesn't decline any invitations?

Cofidis would get the Vuelta wild card cause they're Vuelta sponsor. Cofidis going pro-conti wouldn't hurt them much. there would be one more wild card for Giro, Tirreno and other races.
Arkea is fried I think. unless Qatar or Rwanda splash the cash out of the blue (those option are old news though)

Cofidis about to be 400 points behind UNO X after this weekend. Possibly a decisive gap given the way they are going but the fact they are are going or Taihu Lake and Japan and UNO X isn't could still make the difference.
Uno-X have 3 fewer races left.

Cofidis are doing Taihu Lake (2.Pro), Tour de Vendee (1.1), Guangxi (2.UWT) and Utsonomiya (1.Pro) with no Uno-X
Uno-X is doing Trofeo Tessile & Moda (1.1) with no Cofidis

I think it comes down to the wire but Cofidis gets over the line.

A bit more than 100 points for Cofidis today, tomorrow another 150 probably out of china. Gap to UNO X in half and with more races (especially Tokyo) and Johannessen now out for UNO X it's looking like they still might save themselves. Paris Tour will be very important for UNO X tomorrow, they need something there probably, or need a suprise in Italy if Cofidis does what it has to do in Asia

Also Cofidis seems to be safe for guaranteed wild cards at least.

I don't see any chance for cofidis to catch UnoX. The upcoming races in Asia have too high quality startlists to score that big, its not like Taihu Lake. We can see in Tour de Vendee that they are not able to score more than 20 points in a coup de france race, so where should the 300 points come from (and Abrahamsen will score for sure some points for unoX)

Tokyo is easy to get a lot of points in, half of that startlist is there to get paid, but will DNF after half the race. Always happens. Cofidis will be motivated, with a Izagiire who seems to have some form finally. Guangxi is different ofc. They probably won't get a lot there, but some a few 5th places with Aniolkowski, a 12-20th place of Moniquet and Buchmann in GC, someone else in the top 40. It stacks up yk, without anything special there that's 80-100 points possibly. They are only 280 behind virtually. Like I said, UNO X should probably gain some tomorrow in Paris Tours.
