Rewatched on Eurosport player, at that point he didn't re-enter the peloton. He is shown later getting again to a car (yes, all look the same) getting a not so sticky bottle (the still from the other twitter) and continuing his work behind and on the side of the cars caravan towards the peloton which by this point is no longer seen. Then we see the front group and... commercial break.

It's a snapshot, that sticky bottle was much shorter than most I've ever seen. If he drafted egregiously, it wasn't in the footage.

Putting the controversy aside, bit of a fail from the Americans, they should not have pushed so hard to bring back the early break effectively burning most of there team out, the gap could have grown out much further and other nations would have had to contribute.

Should've be DSQed at the time instead of waiting for three hours. But then again, maybe somebody came to them with the footage after the race, or late on.
Can only wonder how Foss, Battistella, Pidcock and Bissegger would've raced the final kilometre without Eekhorn, Higuita and Kron there, which they wouldn't have been if Eekhorn was DSQed at the correct time...

If Eekhoff got a tow I'm glad he's disqualified. I don't care if it's too late, Demare should have never got that MSR so maybe riders will think twice now before getting a tow.

Honestly can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. If you are, then I ask you to take a deep breath, remember that this was four years ago and adequately punished, and calm down. Hatred of complete strangers, according to various made up studies, is the number one cause of madness in members of cycling forums.
Have to agree - DSQ him at the time, they only had 124km to do it. If none of the race officials saw the offense, then Tough - he should keep his win. He also had an influence in the outcome of the race.
Evidence from non race officials should be in-admissible. The UCI have once again left themselves looking totally amateur & clueless.

Damn I hate UCI and Froome. How could he do this to that young guy?
It does suck to have the results overturned after the finish, but what many of you are suggesting--that it should never happen, isn't possible because teams or riders are allowed to file a protest after the race finishes. Still, it does seem mucked up the way this played out with the evidence coming from the media.

People do know Froome was also thrown off the Giro for holding on to a car
At this years Vuleta the drafting of Roglic and Astana and Roglic holding on to his team car was ignored in te cross winds stage
No consistency. This young guy looked the strongest to me and haven't yet seen anything where he merited having the win taken off him
