"The winner of the 1988 Tour, Pedro Delgado, now a commentator on Spanish television, described Armstrong as “a strong-willed character who has done a lot for cycling” but who nevertheless had many enemies.

He questioned the wisdom of returning to the issue so many years later, saying it made “no sense.”

“You talk about cheating but rather than trying to get justice, I think it’s more about a power struggle between institutions. You can’t now take away podium wins from a rider who’s given his all,” he added.

“It’s bad news for cycling and we know that the victims are always cyclists.”

It's like Gary Glitter offering his opinion on the Sandusky case.

absolutely sickening article in newsweek...

this fellow Buzz must have kneepads surgically attached...

Know that Bissinger celebrates cheating in sports.

Here's a Bissinger piece which defends bounties in the National Football League to hurt football players:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...age-against-bonuses-for-injuring-players.html

"Commissioner Roger Goodell claims to be aghast that teams paid bonuses to players for knocking out their opponents. Isn’t that why we watch football in the first place?"

Bissinger is emblematic of a sick culture. He's sick.

You used the word "embracing," but if it was not your intention to use that to mean what I suggested, I cede to your point.

Yes, I am arguing that Floyd's talking was the impetus for the others doing so.

Actually I used the word embrace and the word repeating, meaning each in their respective ways: one as a process, the other as a passion for that activity.

Semantics aside, are you saying that after Floyd, Hincapie and Levi just cold called Tygart overburdened by their respective consciences?

Following a second reading, my mistake. However, daily embracing of the continued job of insisting that the USADA has somehow been unethical or acting outside of the bounds within which they are supposed to operate is just as pointless as you have no proof.

No, but they had the evidence to pressure them to talk following Floyd and Tyler's admissions. That is how things like that work. Really not a complicated concept.

Didn't say it was complicated. Really? What evidence did they have beyond those admissions? What pressure would that be? Retroactive testing?

You may not have noticed, but I haven't been insisting on that daily--hammering that point as you would have it--or even been posting much until MacR trolled up a typo. (As if there weren't enough going on in this thread to keep most preoccupied.) The only reason I even repeated that argument was to stress for the anxious the fact that making that argument is not a tacit defense of LA. I'm quite content to stay out of the fray until the first few rounds of the media feeding frenzy die down; wait for things to settle; and then see how things sit.

Doubtful. Your posts on this subject seem to fall into idealist/optimist category--which no doubt fuels the vitriol as well. Six months would be a strong estimate in terms of condemnation.

In the meantime, you watch out for your next false god.....

Fair enough then.

You get how the word false works right. I've seen posts of yours that evince a little more intelligence than that.

As for the rest: are you accusing me of something? Please do lay it out.

Damn it seems that page is getting some hate, I couldn't get caught up in that arguing with anonymous internet handles is one thing but arguing with people over facebook of the type who once they start arguing would never admit they are wrong would drive me crazy.

USADA said they would release some of their evidence within five day's so I hope it contains some kind of reference to an affadavit from big george because that will at least silence a few of these insane/misguided hero worshippers.
