Federer's already a Nike athlete, so he fits right in...

Just like OJ's rep was restored? I think not. Juries can do strange things, but the evidence in this should be compelling.

No, more like Clemens.

You might note that Armstrong and Clemens are said to have used performance enhancing drugs, while Simpson is alleged to have murdered two people in cold blood.

OJ won't be showing up at the MLB All Star game or the NFL Pro Bowl any time soon, but Clemens will likely get a job related to baseball.

This has similarities to both. A legion of defenders who know he is guilty but have a different agenda than airing the truth. That's the OJ element.

A reckless, narcissitic disregard for the damage to the integrity of the sport they cause by putting self interest above everything else. That's the Clemens element.

He's got it all.

Maybe OJ can address the crowd at the Super Bowl via video hook up from his prison cell in Nevada.

Huh? Who were the legion of defenders with a "different agenda" in the OJ case?

If Clemens showed "reckless disregard for the damage to the integrity of the sport", then so did half the Yankees lineup and a large portion of MLB during his Cy Young days.

And by no measure are the two comparable - again, one involved a dual murder while the other involved PED's.

Don't you remember all the people who were outside the courtroom who knew he was inocent? What about the media they all including court TV were defending OJ. I am suprised you do not remember it that way. Even in this day and time there are a legion of OJ defenders out there somewhere.

Most wised up after a few years. Belief in OJ has been made fun of by a lot of black comedians. The supporters have moved on to "he did it but the jury rightly found him not guilty because of the police."

He's got even more than that.

The OJ comparison must have some relationship to Godwin's law, but there is no comparison.

"The relationship with Hertz and Simpson ended in late 1992 when reports of domestic abuse surfaced." In other words, years before the White Bronco chase.

Whereas Lance's sponsors continue to support him as he tries to destroy an entire sport.

No comparison.

Dave.

Some have too much investedin LA to ever admit what he has done both in sport and to intimidate people. Perhaps a selective conscience? or is it Con-science?

2008 is old news. Something more updated perhaps? Would you like to point out the investment?

I'm curious if Lance put any pressure on Medalist to dump Frankie's team from all 3 major US Continental races this year? It seems suspicious that they are ranked higher than buttraper/dopestrong, have more wins, and have been a solid team all year, but no invites? I'm sure Frankie was a witness in both investigations.

Payback? The "boss" still has some pull?

Edit: they have a lot of victories that don't register with CQR apparently

Bontrager - Livestrong have 4 victories on the year

http://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/team_palm.asp?year=2012&teamcode=bls&podium=1

Kenda - 5 Hour Energy have 0

http://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/team_palm.asp?year=2012&teamcode=kpc&podium=1

Not to mention BLS have the best young American prospect on their team that finished a respectable 12th at the Tour of California

I do not recall saying that was not the case (because you and I agree), but I was trying to stay on point. Are you trying to open a new thread (or 2) inside this one? Please don't.

We can discuss privately if you are so inclined.

Bank on it.

Also bank on the expectation that Lance's explicit efforts to bar Frankie from racing will be unveiled should an arbitration proceedings go forward.

Huh? You're letting your wishful thinking get ahead of you.
Think about how you'd go about proving that, then think about USADA's (nonexistent) tools to get at that evidence.

There is a specific topic created for that type of fiction already.

Fiction? Hardly, given Lance's past deeds. But I know you are here to defend all things Lance, and that's fine.

Maybe one day people will get over the notion and insanity of hero worship. Especially when it is used so loosely....

Be careful what you ask for. I'm not the one banking on the tooth fairy here.

2008 is not old news, this goes way back and besides, look how you defend him in the face of all that has transpired.
Didn't defending him on the internet a while back win you a free trip to France? The more recent stuff could be your posts on here in the past 3 days, if you prefer. What will you be rewarded with this time?

Freindship = emotional investment = biased opinion = free trip to France.
