Judging by the writing of the USADA compared to Armstrong's muppets, I would place a pretty big bet that one side will be able to clearly, concisely, and forcefully answer questions from the judge. The other side, not so much.

That has to be a big plus in the USADA's favor.

T minus 45 minutes......I hope he did not get to the judge's family.

Not even LA & crew would be stupid enough to threaten a federal judge's family.

May be that is why USADA is not too concerned over time delays....Pat is doing all the heavy lifting here...

Current time is 3:23 in Austin.

David Miller steps up:

@millarmind: Personally I totally disagree with the way the UCI is conducting itself. It is wrong.

It's time for the peloton to speak. Stand up now. Be brave.

"Historically over the last 10 to 15 years there has been a political campaign against cycling by senior people within WADA and I don't think that's acceptable," McQuaid told the press.

I'm not a McQuaid fan but I agree with him here.
**** pound appeared to be anti-cycling for years and it appeared that he was looking for publicity.

Pound went after everyone. He just wanted to get dopers.

Aack! How bad is that....?? Just a minor comment??

Not sure. It just got me thinking that they are, after all, in Texas. And LA is the rose, so to speak, of Texas, at least where outsiders are concerned. So maybe the judge, despite being federal, will defer to his Texas loyalty . . . .

We're screwed...or maybe another delay so the USADA can flesh out the charging doc.

I'm not going to freak yet...
it may be like constructive criticism...

The judge has to appear fair

You know what they say about Armstrong in Texas.

"Half of Texas thinks Armstrong is an assh0le. The other half hasn't met him yet."

And cycling is now as recognizable for doping as weightlifting. Probably then too. The sport was ripe for a take down and has been for a very long time going back to Verbruggen.

This is a judge well versed in criminal procedure, so he may be in that mindset. Or he may just be in a bad mood. He may just be saying he wished there were more specifics in the letter because it would make his jurisdiction analysis easier.

We'll see how he grills the other side.

From the judge's perspective, (per Kennf1) it seems justified. I don't think he really gets how little authority USADA has.

Well, what was the reason for Armstrong's attorneys to file in Austin? Could the initial filing been done elsewhere?
