I appreciate the thought, but I am about as influential and important as bellybutton lint. They want sources with primary source information. The most famous cyclist I know is a Cat 2.

But I am certainly happy that this part of the forum is well regarded by someone. There are a lot of people who consider the posters here to be the 12 Apostles of Hate. We just need to ride our bikes more I guess...:)

I strongly disagree Chewie. Just that address to the blogpiece on the numbers game would certainly help some journos make some better calls before they press "publish". Most of them are too pressed for time to really do proper journo work... My point is, in here there´s an abundance of well articulated points, backed up by various degrees of good documentation. So, it needn´t come from the horses mouth. It could just as well come from the "bellybutton lint" who happens to know where the horse is at... thus helping some poor journos do a better job. I dont think it takes that much, really. And sometimes you might be able to make that snowball start rolling. Same for the Race Radio man. He seems to be in the know here and there?

I just keep thinking he will refuse arbitration and fight a PR war for the rest of his life against the sanctions with the hope that the actual evidence against him will never see the light of day.

Bruyneel has already indicated he doesn't believe the USADA has any power over him, so maybe he drops his case too.

I think he has to fight it.
He has no idea of what consequences there will be if he accepts the decision and is given a life time ban and they go and seek he gets removed from his 'victories'.

He is in a bind.

Case in point, my "Thick Wall of Dope" graphic. I only sent it to one person (Mark Zibleman) who posted it on his blog. It ended up in ProCycling magazine eventually (uncredited, of course). People still talk about it.

If anyone has some good data that would work well as a "well-designed" graphic, feel free to send it to me. I'll take a crack at the information design.

Yeah! What he said!

....<snip>....So, asking fellers like the hairy copilot of the Millennium Falcon, why not use a little bit of the energy you dish out here arguing with mostly people of the same convictions as yourself (an impressive amount I dare say), and spend some of that energy making stuff like this available to the sports journos out there? Including Europe? It just might get a few more of them to start asking the right questions, thus throwing a wrench into that big and rich BS-machinery guys like LA have at their disposal? Just that piece on the number of his tests would clearly stop some of the unchallenged BS from infecting us commons....<snip>....

Armstrong was known to use a Blackberry (until around about the Steve Jobs demise then he claimed to be an Apple user) with a paid service alert to inform him when his name was referred to online.

We are aware that Armstrong makes cloaked visits to the Clinic as reported by RR.

Another interesting point is that when USADA recently responded to UCI on a point of a conflict of interest concerning Patrick McQuaid the construction and sequence of their argument could have been lifted from posts on this board ferreted out about Pat's inconsistent stumbling to explain the Armstrong less-than-claimed donations to the UCI.

So I would expect cycling journos (and relevant lawyers) would be regular visitors to this site but would still have been cognizant of Armstrong's well known spiteful influence to sideline their careers in cycling journalism if they crossed him.

RR does know people, contrary to what you will hear from some here. I'm just a trained humaniod primate of some description.

Noway Armstrong enters into arbitration. He will hunker down and weather the storm and hope it blows over eventually. He will continue to say that the USADA case was a witchhunt and he had no chance of a fair proceding.

Lance is facing a duanting challenge if he goes to arbitration. Think about it. He would have to discredit 10 witnesses which is impossible. He has nothing to gain from going to through this process...absolutly nothing.

I do believe this will soon be over

I have argued that before. The information here is buried in thousands of posts. A resource of easy to digest information would help immensely. Infographics are easy to pass ground, so they can leave a big footprint.

Briefly we discussed setting up something like Trust But Verify.

And db kindly offered the use of trustbut.

However, I am at fault for not completing the transcription of the various depositions I have access to.

There is a very good thread on the Number of Tests, though.

Dave.

Yes, a VERY big bind. I'm sure through smoke and mirrors, he'll pull something out of his rear end and find a way to duck charges.

He can fight PR all he wants, the press/media will demolish him when the evidence is released. He brought all of this on himself sadly. If I were his lawyer, I'd advise him that the game is up, time for him to come clean, and try to save face somehow. He cant/WONT win, sadly he doesn't realize that.

Once his teammates throw him under the bus, he's done........I guess all his millions couldn't help him afterall?

I began to believe he read here when he went after a couple of us on twitter because it was the only logical explanation for his picking out our tweets...unless he twitter searches a phrase that has "Jesus" in it. (I am forbidden from making the reference because I will be banned for a short period if I do. Mods, please don't take my reference as writing that particular term of endearment as I was only referencing it for the point at hand and NOT to call him that.)

I think Lance is going to surprise us all and confess to everything. While he is about the biggest a-hole that there could possibly be, how can he continue on like this. What about his family? Does he not ever think of them? Can't his wife or mother talk sense into the moron.
His only chance to come out of this with any chance of redemption is to take it like a man now. Be a man fir the first time in his life. Not after he is found guilty, as he most surely will. Yes, I have no sympathy at all for Lance but feel bad for his family.

I truly hope I am wrong, but that is what I think his best choice is now if he wants to have any hope of continuing to deny this for the rest of his life. If he goes to arbitration, he knows he's ****ed. He can pretend to Sparks that he is completely unaware of what the evidence is against him, but he was there doping, so it's no mystery.

Hehe, I second that! There´s one particular feller (not the big hairy one), well trained in judicial matters, that makes me think someone might be practicing their rhetoric in here....

About journos being frightful of repercussions, I´m sure LA has lost/is loosing a fair amount of his powers to inflict damage. These things turn easily.

I think the Mens Health interview was revealing - he probably knew something was about to drop. He may have weighed up his options and expected SoL would kick in and protect most of what he did.

But if you remember the charging documents sent to him, if he signs (or refuses to sign) they can take away all results to 1st August 1998!!!

For him now - if he could argue a case and only lose a Tour or 2 that would seem like a massive victory.

Here's what my crystal ball sez.
First appeal Judge Sparks' ruling to whomever will hear the appeal.
Lawyers need more time.
Second, delay, obfuscate, shift PR machine into overdrive.
Someone on legal team will have an emergency, requiring further continuance. Appeal, delay, avoid.

Can't you see the softball interview lance will host once he decides not to enter arbitration. Soft Journo *squinted eyes, best peering into soul look*: Lance, if your so innocent why not go through the arbitration?
Lance: Insert witch hunt quote here

Take a guess which journalist will be called first lol

No, the case law on the jurisdiction issue is clear. His ability to get an appeals court to overturn it is slim to none and slim just left the building. It won't take them too long to kick his *** out of there too.

It's sh*t or get off the pot time, and I fear he will just get off the pot, but again, I hope I'm wrong.

I like bro deal's Cartman image.

A bit of 'respect my authorityy!', and a bit of 'Timmyyy!'.

I'm rooting for Timmy! Or should I say, "Timmeye!".

This choad is done, and the funny thing is that he doesn't even know it yet.

Nah - the journalists don't like his "credibility" anymore
By doing nothing he admits defeat - and history is written by the winners.
Its death by a thousand cuts, next up come the books.....
