Again an essential point you seem to miss every time. Tours like California and Colorado talk themselves up being big and great and the thoughest. And everytime it turns out they were not as though as they claimed to be
Precisely. What annoys me the most is the way they talk up California, Colorado..... Good races but please don't compare them with Paris Nice, Tour,.....

poor Andy...gotta feel a bit for him.

Don't... he doesn't care, same as in TdSuisse etc.

Lol Liggett, "that little look on Andy's face as he thinks about what might have been". Yes he's thinking about how he could've been sipping Piña Coladas on a beach right now.

The thing you guys seem to miss is that these clowns are marketing the race for the general American public, not for us. Just ignore them and focus on the race.

a queen stage decided completely in the downhill in rain.

No sorry, that was bullsh.t. Glad Leipheimer won't win now though!

yeah, maybe I just came to accept the fact not all races have to be crazy.People tried on the climb and they failed. Others tried on the descent and it sticked. I've seen worse and I'm mostly annoyed about the picture break-ups. I also think that a lot of these "oh, so boring" posts we see throughout the forum are more a matter of unrealistic expectations from fans.

Props to Van garderen. He fought a lot today to get that jersey.

TJVG rode with a lot of panache and will most likely take home the overall victory. Well deserved.

P&P saying that the good thing is that the wind and rain came so late, if it would have been on the ascent, it would have split it to pieces

yeah, that would have sucked..

There are too many Colombians at the front but it seems like they can not decide the race (??)

Maybe we need a different course.

How the flying @#$@# did LL, VV, Evans, etc. lose 45 seconds on the final part of the downhill to the finish? That's pathetic. Radioshack had the responsibility to keep a break from getting away from the yellow jersey and they failed completely at a most ridiculous time.

Of course none of us have any clue how it happened because all coverage cut out. No moto-cams could broadcast? Nothing? Not even audio? Awful technical failures. Unacceptable.

I'm in the US, and heard no comparisons from ToCA or ToCO to Paris Nice, the fourth grand tour, by anyone other than sarcastic forumites.

This race was hyped as exactly what it is: long climbs and high altitude. Any exaggerations are inventions by critics, to complain about the hype.

Why am I still listening to them? They said that the success of this event will surely bring it back in the next years...

How can you call this a success after the first 3 days?

Phil and Paul are the biggest offenders of this, so I think that is what really gets under all the formites skin.

Guys... even the top races have weak profiles at times.

Prior to the ITT in Paris Nice this year, there were 23 riders within 30 seconds of the lead. The remaining two "climbing" stages had 23 riders within 29 seconds on one and 22 riders withing 30 seconds of the lead finisher from the main group on the other.

I think this isn't that far off in terms of the quality of the parcours.

Well it is a success that the huge teams showed up and a great lineup, parcours could be better but it sure is promising for the next few years if they're able to the TV coverage.

All-US top five on GC now. Tejay should have this in the bag, he'll probably extend his lead tomorrow. I hope we get some fun sprints in the last few stages at least.
