I'm surprised at how poorly Van Garderen went today, it was hard to see him succumbing to his emotions. Still, the future is very bright for him and better days are to come. I hope HTC blows the race apart on Saturday and isolates Levi early on so the other GC guys can crack his ***.

I'm not surprised. I used to work for an outdoor leadership school....when the human body is utterly exhausted --which I'm betting happened to Tejay after the frigid alpine descent yesterday---and you are on the edge both physically and mentally, not to mention the new pressure of wearing a leader's jersey, you don't alway conduct yourself within reason. His body hit its limits and didn't have enough recovery time, then a TT today. mental exhaustion and some immaturity and lack of experience...well...

jeez...
This is /was a huge learning curve...next time he'll have some baseline experience to fall back on.

I was there today. Great crowd, great atmosphere. Thousands and thousands of folks riding bicycles on course since you can't drive up the route. We'll see how the race weathers the storm that is sure to arise from people whining about the road closures but there's no doubt that Colorado cycling fans are ecstatic about having a world class bike race in the state again. I live less than a mile from the finish in Breckenridge and the town is going to be totally nuts as will the little climb about 6 miles before the finish over Swan Mtn road.

I can't see any team isolating Levi from the rest of the Shack.

I think there will be some giddyup for the bonus seconds at the end between the top of the GC (not sure if I want to use the word sprint...). However, I see TJ being a little immature and trying to get away too often or too early and tiring himself out. I don't know though. I can't even say why that's my prediction

I can see TJVG new team helping him out.

Cadel and George may have a quite word in his ear at time during saturdays stage.

This. The kids 23 and has put a huge amount of pressure on himself, give him till he has made some big steps in the last 3 months.

I just hope Levi doesn't win this. The thought of that is not nice. It may bring back memories of the tour de suisse.

I'm only surprised that Levi's winning margin was so small.
Seriously, did anyone expect a different winner on such a non-technical, uphill ITT?
Disappointed young Tejay lost the jersey. You may catch out the LeviShack once, but it's unlikely it can happen twice.

Saturday is the stage that appears to go upwards for about half the stage, with a 3rd cat towards the end, right?

This race has made me a Teejay fan.

I hate Levi but I thought it was classy of him to say that he considered the win a shared win between him and Christian. Even though everyone knows that Levi won fair and square, it was a nice gesture.

Yeh, not a fan at all of LL, mate being a bit humble wouldnt hurt.
Then again tj loves himself (" I know LL isnt good on the downhills, i am i have balls so i attacked"), it worked but bit of modesty for other competitors!!!

Also im ****ed at time bonuses in a week long race. I really want them back in TDF and giro cause they are such long races it creates some exciting stages and unlikely attacks. In such a short race doesnt make much sense to me, Christian Vv has been faster than LL without bonuses, but just because LL has 20 second time bonus hes behind by secs which is stupid, in such a short race where that will likely be the finishing margin

Additionally he may have given LL extra motivation by lighting a fire under him with his public criticism of LL's lack of "balls" in taking risks on descents in explaining his success in gaining time on LL and temporarily gaining the leader's jersey. No point in giving your opponent extra motivation when it can be avoided.

Suprised that Tommy D did so well after his stomach problems. CvV also did well and is well placed.
I expected Cadel to go better. He's evidently not in the best form but it's to be expected. Intresting racing to come.

Top ten for Big George. I didn't know he still had that strong of a TT in him.
For Big George the altitude works for him instead of against him.. He is always at least one head above the rest of the riders all year long.

Well you can't knock his time trialling ability. I thought it was a great comeback after dropping time the stage before. I was hoping Van de Velde would hang on. Fantastic ride. The guy has had so much bad luck. Great ride by the Colombian also. Evans tried hard as usual but not quite up to it. Leipheimer has a had a good season. Second in TOC. First in TDS and should win this this plus a win the Tour of Utah. He does really well in the week long races. I am not convinced though whether his current form would have got him a high placing in the TDF without all of his bad luck. Maybe he would have done better than most people thought. We will never know.

Btw... there's even a European race result with Infantino in the top 10 of an ITT...in 2011

So your research was pretty poor :p

Good morning.

Yes, I saw those results. Based on that race, I guess you would consider Anton an ITT specialists. :p

Btw......wake me up when Infantino sniffs a top 50 in the World Championships.

Absolutely nothing. It was a fantastic ride by him and I congratulate him on the result against some very good competition.

I am wondering if he would have won if he would have wore a TT helmet instead of the Cat helmet. he averaged 23 MPH I would think a TT helmet would have given him a couple of seconds
