this race > tdu.

even with the pretending.

Plus even better potential to grow.

TDU will be same **** different year if it stages in SA.

If Colorado get the stuff together could be very good.

Imo small changes.

ITT was good

stage 3 was good with the descent into aspen

stage 1 with the climb at the end was ok

stage 2 meh

stage 5 was great racing stage profile meh

the problem seems to be mths at the start of the stage long flat sections of nothing and no MTF only needs 1 and make it good.

stage 6 circuits different finish so ok.

I think (hope) that all these steep mountains in the first hour of racing are being tested out as potential MTFs in later editions.

Lookout would be a great MTF, especially if they had already used some combination of any of the great Front Range canyons like Left Hand, Coal Creek, Golden Gate, etc leading up to it.

If they want to finish the race in downtown Denver though, I'm afraid that stage it will always be a mass sprint that has no effect on GC.

With the exception of the television issues, (must have gone with the lowest bidder) I'd have to imagine the sponsors have to be happy with what they've seen so far.

This is all very true. The roads from Golden to Denver will be boring suburbia.
Downtown will be more interesting, but I believe the organizers wants a "true road stage" so you have to get to Denver somehow. If they use Flagstaff Mt above Boulder next year, that should hopefully satisfy the "gradient nazis".

We are off again to watch a stage. We'll be on Lookout Mountain and are expecting a madhouse.

I was thinking if they had a time bonus instead of just KOM points on Lookout, maybe the GC would contest the climb..

Oh well, I think Levi already has this wrapped up. Noticed there is no thread for Stage 6.

Most likely a lot of riders doing this race are being paid quite a fair bit including Cadel. I made that comment because generally when it is not the tdf or LBL Andy Schleck doesn't do anything so that's why I made such a comment. Similar with Lance at TDU.

Don't be so precious.

Agree - I like Andy, but nevertheless your comment made me laugh quite a bit

Viviani will win. Not a great stage today.
This is just about some desperately needed CQ points from Tejay, as far as I'm concerned.
Kirby said last night they were on 2 hours early, due to potential hurricane news updates. Which, of course means that Eurosport don't have any live coverage. Motorbike's dominate yet another Sunday schedule.:(

Oss leads out Viviani again, and takes the win! Liquigas dominating the flat finishes at this race.

Well that ditty is over. Some good stages, some not. The race needs at least one Mt. Evans or Red Mountain long, true uphill finish.

Now that's gotta suck! Being HD'ed on the last stage.

It's basically "Congratualations, you finnished the race. But guess what! You're not gonna be on the final result-list. Haha! Sucker!" :p

My thought as well. That'll get top teams back next year.:D

Levi Ridiculous

Levi looks ridiculous in this race this is a second category race that the younger try to win and the pro use the race for training but Levi is the only pro that try to win this kind of races maybe he can't do anything more, remember the tour always losing time, why don't he go to La Vuelta to try to win this are really pro cyclist, you really looks RIDICULOUS all this youngest riders around you in the podium picture. Tour the Georgia, tour the california and now pro challenge, go to this 2.0 challenge your category.

I think it has more to do with winning a big race on home soil than sandbagging as you imply. Remember Suisse, he won that. Or was that not a race with "real" pros?
