No Vancansoleil thread yet Hhmmm ?

It's about time to get one started then for this Holiday broker to sunny destinations in Spain and Italy and his fine tuned general manager Daan Luijkx ...

So both signings, to secure top status in cycling are in trouble .... the team can be carried to the grave

Was there any picture circulating already from Mosquera in the Vac jersey by the way ? would be nice for me 2010 cycling diary !

What a waste of money Daan ...

What goes around comes around.

Two years ago I supported them and their plans. Then Hilaric (Hilaire) van der Schueren came in. Then he started buying 2nd class Belgians and booting out the Dutch. And finally he started copying his old Unibet team and buying the same failures and shady characters. Booting out more Dutch riders.

They're as bad as Flaminia now. I hope Poels, Ruygh, Westra, Mouris etc find a new team quick and get the hell out of there as soon as possible

I could never understand their plan to get upped to ProTour by buying Ricco!!! I can't imagine ASO want him back at the tour any time soon. Brings back too many bad headlines. Looked like a big risk signing for a team trying to get promoted to me, I'd rather have a cleaner team with no GC contender than that clown.

+1. It's Van der Schueren who's brought this team to the edge of the abyss, not Luijkx. I remember Hilarious saying that he'd been guaranteed a wildcard for the Giro di Lombardia, because "Italy is at Ricco's feet". And lookee what happened just a week or so later: no wildcard, signore!

They have had Johnny Hoogerland on their books the whole time, even before signing blokes like Ricco and Mosquera.

I just use Chrome's built-in translator, sure it makes some funny sentences but you can get most of the important information.

What second class belgians are we talking about? Leukemans isn't 2nd class  Gardeyn isn't that bad either and they had only 2 others so that doesn't really count.

You are contradicting yourself. Apart from Leukemans, they are 2nd class. Not better than any of the forementioned Dutch guys, so why buy them?
Instead, a lot of riders are stuck on teams like Van Vliet because Vacans. rather buys Gardeyn and other Veuchelens who are not one bit stronger.

Vacans are toast. They blundered in hiring Ricco but with now with Mosquera signing the game is probably up.

Vacansoleil is dead, dead, dead. Leukemans will probably leave now. They will not get ProTour invitation, which seems rather obvious seeing the changing circumstances of the last 12 hours!

You could just put JOKE in your signature. ;) :p

moskito thing has nothing to do with vacansoleil and as de telegraaf is right ricco isn't in any real trouble even if they've finde something suspicious (just contrast the petacchi case).

so actually i think vacansoleil would be still invited to il giro next year and wouldn't get a pt license somehow or other, because of the sodding retorte pegasus squad. in an athletic way they should get one.

i still see a strong squad with great dutch talents (de locomotief, poels, mouris, westra), etablished riders from benelux (devolder, leukemams) and a strong italian group (ricco, marcato, carrara) with some talented domestiques.

The chances were that they wouldn't get a Pro Tour licence anyway.

The licences would have gone to: HTC, Liquigas, GEOX, FdJ, Euskaltel, Astana and the Schlecks.

They still will unless Pegasus buy PMcQ a holiday home on Sydney Harbour.

But Vacansoliel's hope have completely disappeared now.
