Did you see the length of the cat 1 gpm? From the start of the stage to the top is 57km of ascent, brutal!!
I'm also interested to see what Jose Sarmiento will do for Liquigas.
I really hope there's a stream on-line for the race, I've been too long without cycling and I don't care much for the TDU.

actually Alberto is not THAT fit... He has gained some kgs there... maybe for the winter or looking for more weight for the TT...

Right.......... Alberto's "winter" started after the TDF.

He plays down his chances for the overall because he's too heavy. He's lost some pounds but is still 4 kg above his ideal weight right now.

Never judge someone's weight by looking at a pic I guess :p We'll see, I still think he'll do well.

Doesn't Contador look quite big on this picture? Not fat big, but just big. It might only be the angle..

Contador isn't actually as skinny or small as you might imagine when you see him for real(and not on tv). I was a bit surprised as well the first time I saw him with my own eyes.

Indeed, and he admits that he is 7,5 kg above his optimal weight, and didnt impress on the latest training camp where a Danish amateur beat him in an uphill-test. So maybe we shouldnt expect to much from him this early. But then again, Contador usually goes for the win when he participates in a win:

No you might be right. I've never seen him in real life so don't know :) I think he's looking bigger and bigger for every year. Like in 2011 I think he was bigger than 2010 but I might be wrong.

He said 3.5 though, he already lost 4kg on his training camp.

The one on the Canarian Isle? Mighjt be. Would make sense. And I think the test where he was beat by an amateur was on the 1st day.

The Danish amateur was the only one who beat him, or a whole lot beat him, including a Danish amateur? Just to clear things up here...

I saw him in person last fall, he's not as small as his statistics would imply. I was expecting a waif, but far from it. He looks in better shape than when i saw him. And if he gained 7.5 kg (15lbs!) in the off season i'll eat my cleats.

Well the article doesnt say but I would reckon the latter as I refuse to believe that the amateur beat the whole Saxo squad :p
