how many more stages can Nibali win?

My guess is one more stage in Alps, one more in Pyrenees. And final ITT is a tough call between him and Tony.

Oh I think he has at least 1 more stage win in those legs!!! Tony has been a monster so Nibs doesn't really have a shot there IMO. But there are other stages he can take if he keeps riding this strongly.

Very classy press conference quotes, classy guy Nibs is :)

I hope he had a restful stress free day and is ready for the wars to recommence!

Tony's riding like a beast, both on the flats and up the climbs. After seeing him the last few days I think he'll probably crush the TT.

How many more stages Nibs wins I would say probably depends on how fresh Astana is (whether they decide to bring breaks back or not). I see them letting few go. Then Nibs gifting at least one stage to some guy that hangs with him.

I'd say he takes Hautacam, maybe Chamrousse too.

GT rider is trained to peak at the third week, of course Tony could also take next week easy to get ready for the ITT. But I think he might have to do some work for Kiwi and for his team sprinter in a couple of stages. The parcourse of ITT is not pan flat and very technical. I think it will be a tough call, even if Tony win I think it will be very closely followed by Nibali.

Tony isn't the only ttist who is better than Nibali....Nibali will be around 4th or 5th in the ITT. :)

I'd say two more too. Maybe a stage gift to Fuglsang? :D
Top 5 in final ITT.

God I hope not. I want him to crush Fugs into never even thinking about his own chances when he's supposed to work for Nibs. :D

Atm Fuglsang thinks this has been a 'mixed' Tour since he has lost his GC spot, and his ambition for the rest of the race is to win a stage...

there is no way Fulgsang will help Nibali next year for the Tour, unless he is given the Giro leader status

Birdsong on Nibali:

"Sometimes you almost have the feeling that he doesn't even realise what is happening around him," Fulgsang said. "He's relaxed, he's laid back, he takes everything easy. There's no stress, not even with the yellow jersey.

"He's not the kind of guy who says 'I want this or I want that.' He doesn't always want to have to follow someone around in the peloton. Sometimes he prefers to cruise around on his own."

And he was ill, that's why he appeared to be lazy, read more here:

Within the context, these comments don't sound as bad. => http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/fuglsang-still-hopeful-of-top-10-finish-at-tour-de-france

Actually, reading Fuglsang's description of Nibali behavior as the Tour leader makes me like Lo Squalo even more!

Well, everybody could have a bad day and so Nibbles could sneak the TT that way, but if he smashes everybody it'd look very dodgy to me. A top 5 will be grand. Although, in 2012 almost all time Wiggins and Froome gained on him was in the two TTs, so he probably worked on it a bit since. But 2-3 mins improvement would be too much of a jump.

I really hate that jersey. When did they manage to do this? He was out of yellow for just a day! If you're going for the Hungarian flag, at least have the decency to show it right and not upside down!

he was aiming to challenge F in the Tour, so he worked on his ITT extremely hard in the winter to reach to F' ITT level, so he can have the fighting chance against F.

Alright, after Scarponi decided to test how warm is the tarmac, Birdsong did a good job of taking care of business. More of the same please!

It is never over until the fabled Fat Lady sings :D

**** happens is the other cliche that comes to mind. All one can do is wish him alertness, continued luck, and masterful bike handling. Forza lo squalo!

It's not over until it's over. But every day he looks very strong and rides like a Winner! All he has to do is keep it going!

Cadel Evans said at a press conference that he expects Valverde will be Nibali's main challenger especially in the third week. He did not sound too positive about Richie. He said Richie tends to have a bad day now and then. Many people are saying the same but I think Porte is a better rider now but Nibali is looking very strong.
