If you look closely you'll notice there are many stages of 94 there... it was just a great Giro.

I have no idea. Though that Giro was being dominated (and didn't feature many mountain stages) so is hardly surprising it didn't generate so many views.

Otoh, the Pantani effect is clear with Courchevel, the only Tour stage that made to the Top 15. Strangely enough there is no Les Deux Alpes 98.

Yes.

Strange though considering that was before the Pantani cult. He won the stage but people didn't know that when they tuned itn.

Pantani won the stage before too (the one to Merano), 40" before a rather large group.

He is also very intelligent. Without Froome & Contador & Purito, Nibali has the best possibility to win the Vuelta. He can add another GT to his palmares by preparing properly instead of hurrying over to the TDF for a podium place

Agreed, believe this will be more in his thoughts than the Vuelta.

With regards to next year he'll have no concrete plans yet obviously and I think that the Tour / Giro decision is yet to be made.
