Did you watch his reaction to TJVG beginning to go down? He (Nibali) must be on high alert - great reaction / bike handling / with a bit of luck added ;)

When you have the skills its amazing how often lady luck smiles on you :) Nibali can push where others can't. (Ok Sagan exempted)

I'm worried about Vincenzo's help in the mountains the more I watch this Tour. Kangert showed in last year he isn't going to bury himself completely as he likes to keep a high placing in GC. Birdsong made it clear on ES today that he's targeting a top 5 finish, and Scarponi hasn't shown too much form thus far. Thankfully it seems like Westra will be a great helper. Grivko too.

And hopefully Vino just scares Jakob into working hard for Nibbles when he needs it.

Yes it's essential to keep those 2 under strict control.

"The Italian media loves to give their riders nicknames that reflect their style or character. Vincenzo Nibali is known as the Squalo dello Stretto – the Shark of the Strait, due to coming from Messina, overlooking the strait between Sicily and Calabria in southern Italy. However, famed La Repubblica journalist Gianni Mura -- the last journalist in the Tour de France to still use a typewriter -- has come up with a new name: Cirneco or Pharaoh Hound.

The Cirneco originates from the slopes of mount Etna in Sicily and is used for hunting on the slopes of the volcano.

"It's described as being elegant, lean but powerful, light but resistant. It is excellent for hunting, as a guard dog and for company," Mura wrote in La Repubblica, noting that Nibali will probably need all those qualities and abilities to defend the Tour de France leader's jersey."

Interesting in current peloton, only Fulgsang and Roche are riding the most expensive McLaren editions of specialized bike. Kwiatkowski also had one with team car, but currently not riding it.

so what do you guys think about tomorrow? My prediction is Porte will attack for the win, only Nibali can follow. AC will be a few seconds behind.

Very interesting and apt description of Nibali - The Cirneco....not quite as catchy as Lo Squalo, though.

Did anyone has any statistics: how many times did the clinic successfully predict the final winner? It seems right now they are in heavy favor of Nibali and Porte. :D:p

Nibbles also said he wasn't producing as many watts at the Vuelta as he did in last year's Giro, so it wasn't only weight. He'll need to at least have his Giro form to win

Tanel Kangert crashed in the final 500m of the six-hour race and injured his right wrist. The team doctor immediately escorted the Estonian champion to a mobile x-ray facility provided by race organizers where specialists diagnosed a contusion with swelling.

Kangert's prognosis is positive, team staff will treat the injury with ice overnight and Kangert will be ready to start on Saturday

Chris Horner GC prediction,

Nibali is better than his Veulta form. I want to slap his face when he said AC can take two mins in the ITT. LOL

As much as I dont like Horner ,this is a very good interview;)

I agree with him,30-45 secs in that TT,stronger team for Nibbs in mountains?uhhm maybe. And the thing with accleration he described that perfectly! I found out that two couple of years ago, seems really signature for him
