I'm still expecting a bit more cat/mouse stuff between the front three now Almeida is mostly out the window. A Nibali attack, either long range or at the foot of a final climb, would be allowed space, and so far he's been able to keep within a minute or so on the climbs themselves.
So, in old age his best week has become the second one. But while I understand his frustration I don't think he can't absolutely win from a breakaway, and there is room for improvement after tomorrow's half-rest I guess.
He is performing better than I ever expected. Would he be in contention for another podium if it wasn´t for his health issues earlier this year? Or is this the best a 37 year old shark can do?
