It almost worked back then. The thing is that AC was gonna leave astana, maybe if he didn't leave...:D

If we don't get any news today or tomorrow i think it's nothing. I don't really think anything was so suspicious of nibali in this giro, except that MTT of course. That was just ridiculous...

Maybe also the long ITT but i don't think his mountain performances were that unreal compared to 2012.

Santa's positive was for day 1, we could be waiting for another 3 weeks.

I'm behind on this thread. Just realised it, Nibali possible positive?

Astana really ****s up if so, first contador now this...:eek:

I think Nibali's performance in the mountains was well within his capability. The only place where there was surprise was in the first TT where everybody predicted he would lose 1-3 minutes to Wiggins. He lost only 21 seconds:eek:. That's where he would probably be found positive if at all.

I say 1 or 2 days because of some very vague rumors that were happening yesterday.

I guess nibali's tweet was cause of the santa-thing. Otherwise it really feels out of nowhere.

Correct, but don't worry, this is the clinic, most posters will write anything to trash Sky and Wiggins!

in a thread about Nibali....

'well x is bad, and probably a doper, but what about Wiggins/Froome/Porte/Rogers/Brailsford (delete as appropriate), they're much worse'

Or 'they're both dopers, but x has more natural talent than Wiggins/Froome and is much more exciting to watch'

Throw in a couple of skyborg comments and Bob's your uncle

Jimmy, you are a regular here and you know who brings up those kind of stuff but why do you always stereotype the clinic?

What???

ten characters.

"Being at the top is never easy, but if one day I'm not able to do it anymore it won't be a problem, just as it never was. I hold my head high."

You can see it as: If i'm not that good anymore i won't start doping, i'll just keep enjoying the bike like always.

Obviously referring to the epo of santa then

That's a rather imaginative take on what he said, particularly the bit about enjoying his bike.

Nibs tweet didn't really translate well into English, anyone got a better translation?

"mama mia! despite my winning the giro - allegedly tainted though it may be - the number of posts in MY thread in the clinic are nowhere near the posts on wiggins, deluca, and pudgy faced santambrogio. what does a gt champion have to do to get a respectable post count? wait...i know!"

Well yeah but the timing of the tweet was really convenient, that's why.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the tweet is loaded with meaning. He's basically saying that winning, while he likes it, isn't important enough to him to cheat to get there.

Whether you believe him or not is another matter ;)

I don't think people are reading enough into this

Being at the top is never easy
Being at the top. What is on top (above) of us all. The Sky. i.e. Team Sky.

if one day I'm not able to do it anymore it won't be a problem, just as it never was.
Sounds like he is talking about cycling, right? Wrong. An obvious reference to his recent marriage and having to one day use Viagra. And what is Viagra? A drug.

I hold my head high.
Clearly referencing Gloria Gaynor and the lyrics of I Will Survive

I used to cry but now I hold my head up high

Gaynor's first real success was the song Never Can Say Goodbye.

So what he is really saying is: Team Sky never can say goodbye to drugs. Surprised this one slipped past.

The Giro Organizer should wait a little bit before giving Nibali the price money. Really. Hang on !

@bambula said:
@festinaboy What makes you say that, are his numbers very high?

@festinaboy (Antoine Vayer) said:
@bambula No. An event that will arrive.

@USPostalBoy said:
A question. Where are all the people questioning Astana? 4 riders on front with 3km to go today. If that had been sky... #giro #doping?

@festinaboy (Antoine Vayer) said:
@USPostalBoy answer soon. Not complicated to understand except to be blind.
