He has said himself that he enjoys cold weather several times. Plus, there is always a bridge too far. I don't recall any other lightweight climbers finishing MSR either.

Visconti finished and i dont recall his claim to like cold weather.

Nibali would be the first Sicilian (never mind Italian) i know of to delcare enjoying cold weather

Surely with the way he goes down hill he'd have to okay with the cold? And using one example of where the cold got the better of him in order to discredit him liking the cold is a bit ridiculous don't you think? Adam Hanson didn't finish either and he's the epitome of a tough guy.

Why would he? Plus the link was from 2005. Wasn't everyone supposedly doped then?
More like 2007. And let's not kid ourselves, probably after that, just like Betagnolli kept working with Ferrari after Liquigas wink-wink forbade riders from working with him.

When did the doping stop?

I never claimed it did. Why would the secret pro bring up rumors from 2005 though when it's generally accepted that it was simply what was done back then?

His wiki says the following

Vincenzo Nibali was born in 1984 on 14 November, in Messina, the son of Salvatore and Giovanna. In order to become a cyclist, he left his hometown Messina and moved to Tuscany at the age of sixteen. For ten months of the year, he lived in the house of his ex-directeur sportif, Carlo Franceschi, in Mastromarco, near Lamporecchio

Not sure of the accuracy, but I recall RAI talking about Nibali as a Siciliano.

In Italy they have a sickness called the "colpo d'aria" and blame it on cold weather. Only in Italy.

I believe it was an Italian who invented the "cold" as an illness.

Anyway, I think it does matter what conditions you are acclimatized to live and work in but for me it is much harder to exercise or work in hot weather, like Palm Springs stage of ToC this year than in a blizzard. I love the cold. Perhaps is it psychological :D Nibs is tough in any weather - I think I remember 2010 Vuelta as being very hot, but it usually is.

I will only check this thread in the Clinic once a week now, instead of daily four times a day.

Amen, I'm Irish and when I used to play soccer back home people would happily play soccer etc in heavy rain a few degrees above zero, or in snow, but would noticeably start to struggle if it got to 20 degrees or higher.

I moved to San Francisco and I'll never forget the first time I cycled over the Berkeley Hills - a wall of heat hit me on the other side (maybe 35 degrees) then when I was going up the 'three bears' (not a big climb) I was sweating so much the salt was stinging my eyes and I felt like I was gonna throw up.

I think he was saying he believes Nibali is doping, not that he has any information that he is about to be popped.

Nibali showed improvement comparing with the previous performances, even with Vuelta he won.
But whether it's inside borders of what's allowed, stays to be seen.
Next season and his Tour attempt should tell us more.

I would rather put my faith into Vuelta-Giro-Tour natural trajectory than some random rider out of nowhere in his late twenty suddenly becoming Tour contender.

You started a thread on Nibali - with nothing new on the guy.

The reason there are Landis/LA threads is because there is new information on the doping practices of USPS and LA and the admission of Landis to his own PED use.

I guess that's why Froome/Sky threads are in the 1000's of posts.

Anyway, they should rethink their doping strategy, beated by a 42y is quite sad. Vino lost his touch or his Lance era methods are not so good anymore.
