the piece conveyed that the writer was an arrogant tw*t that cares about nothing other than the sound of his own voice... trying to be clever but without any real passion for cycling.

not saying you have to love Vino like we do, but you sure don't diss him like that... that's just ignorance and arrogance.

Did anyone else notice Vino today JUST MISSED THE WINNING BREAK?! It went RIGHT AFTER the break he was with had been caught and he was RIGHT THERE when Vandevelde & Co. rolled away off of Millar's last surge. But you could see that Vino was fckin' gassed, as he drifted back on the left side of the road (right side of the TV screen not even pedaling and w/ his face showing the famous "Vino Lock-Jaw Grimace."

I was thinking that Weds stage would be an ideal stage for Vino, since its similar to the stage he had originally won in 2007 (later DSQ), taking on the Peyresourde as a final climb followed by a downhill descent into the finish town (in 2007 the stage finish was in Loudenville). Also for some reason i remember a stage in 00 or 01 where he finish 3rd from a breakaway was somewhat similiar also i believe.

To be honest considering how Vino has looked in the mountains so far, and the quality of the climbers that might go in that break, he's better off targeting one of the flatter stages.

Bravo, Vino! You remain a fighter, courageous and determined 'til the very end! It was shame you were caught doping and regrettable that talk of a deal for L-B-L leaked out, but this is not reason to question your class as an athlete. Your aggressive style is one that only Voeckler seems to share, and cycling will be infinitely poorer for your retirement. We know you won't, but it's fun to say anyway - don't spare a single thought for those hypocritical idiot commentators and journalists who constantly insult you whilst heaping praise upon English-speaking ex-dopers like Millar.
