Yesterday Eurosport promised its viewers that Andy was here to prove something, to avenge his honor after having to pull out of PN. Wonder what happened to Andy today? We know Valv was dropped because of a puncture and a crash. I await Andy's excuse for today's blistering performance. :p

Andy waited for Valverde. After the chaingate, Andy does that all the time. If it wasn't that, Andy probably would had won the stage.

He had a mechanical on the ascent, too.
His pedals stopped going around fast enough.;):D
You must have an eagle's eye to have been able to spot that from the worthless helicopter images.

and a broadcast which will make the 80's proud.

first, kudos to omega.that's sports and i had the same opinion when movistar did it too.valverde already won once this race anyway.
i really hope albasini can push above his weight and he will hang on with the big guns tomorrow(and i hope there won't be snow conditions).the man looks in great form.but omega and uk postal will give their best that's for sure.

I am somewhat surprised that Martin, Cunego and Carrara attacked all being quite good finishers in a group like this.

Descending could be a problem for Sky in July. None of Wiggins, Froome, Porte and Uran can descend well.

Fortunately for them I don't think we can expect any attacks from Andy on the descents. Since they're off limits, you know.

Froome is very good. He went with the downhill attacks at the Vuelta when they put the pressure on. Wiggins looks like his confidence is shot. Hard to tell what he was doing from the helicopter shots though.

I wish the team would actually issue as an official statement. Would be great fun.

Better tell that to Cadel and Samuel though. If not, Wiggo can just have a moan about them on twitter afterwards.

Apparently the UCI gave the race 200,000 euros in exchange for the TV rights. To this lovely spectacle.

This was a great, interesting stage. Too bad you couldn't tell half of the action from the broadcast.

You're right actually, Froome did descend pretty well at the Vuelta. He has a pretty bad reputation in terms of bike handling though. That first corner crash at the world's time trial championships was particularly embarrassing.

I'm guessing Wiggo is not going for GC here, so no need to take any risks. Ride conservatively and take no chances.

Then ride at the back of the group, rather than causing splits in the descent (jeopardizing your own teammate's chances).
