Strong rumors now that the stage won't count for the GC

Well, you can't shift the goal posts by 60kms when it's too late to catch a bunch of no hopers.
Better the no hoper from the first stage takes the GC.
Great organization. No wonder the Spanish economy is in the toilet.

Goddamn, it looked like such a good parcours this year, and TV coverage... it just needed things to go right this year, not to show how inadequate the organization is when things go wrong. Well, I guess we can slot in another World Tour Asian race into this time slot real soon...

That would be ridiculous, and totally underrate today's efforts by the guys who stayed in the race, and who rode hard in the break.

That kind of decision should've been made much earlier, not now when the stage has finished.

This...the guys who rode in should have their reward! Would stink if it's taken away :(

the organisers must be fans of calvinball

:p

Doesn't Hobbes end up winning in Calvinball?

Maybe the breakaway will get there way then and keep the time they garnered

The peloton knew or should have known that the last climb was in danger of being cut out all along.
They trusted Ryo so that's why they thought it won't be shortened or cancelled. LOL :D

The leaders didn't even know they were at the finish according to Eurosport.

Brajkovic more or less won by accident. They were stopped by organisers at the 'finish':eek::eek:

Yeah I figured something like that would happen, what a joke.

So you extrapolate from a one-week cycling race in Catalonia to make a judgment on the entire Spanish economy. Very logical.

Now this is embarrassing. And most unfair, too. That's taking away the chances of riders like Gerrans.

I cannot WAIT to see the finish "line" photos. Hopefully they had a photographer there. This race is going down in history. :D
