If this has gone from individual riders abandoning to full teams calling it quits (probably being indignant about the race not having been cancelled yet), I can see the organizers saying today never happened, breakaway be damned.

Yeah, or giving everyone who abandoned +30 minutes on the GC or something.

It's the beautiful end to Levi's GC hopes. His "revenge" yesterday comes to naught. :D

I feel sorry for the other riders, but will fully enjoy the schadenfreude at Levi's expense. :D

Bull****.

They just went in a breakaway, and now they carry on as they have more to lose - there's nothing exciting or impressive about what they're doing.

so many idiotic things in one post. nice :)

How any of you can criticise the riders for abandoning in these completely unsafe and highly dangerous conditions beggars belief.

Ever tried descending on skinny tyres in the snow?!! ....Get a grip

In all fairness, there's no way you can blame the race for the awful coverage.

Because of the economic crisis, they had no option but to give away the TV rights to the only broadcaster that would take them. The broadcaster has very little experience in cycling and THEY are the only ones to blame for the ****-poor coverage.

Given the scale of economic problems in Spain, the race organisers did a fantastic job ensuring the race didn't get cancelled, and to say they deserve to go extinct just because they had bad luck with the broadcaster is... well, ignorant to say the least.

+1 Lets just be thankful we have the race and some coverage at all. Moon on a stick, that is all

It's hardly the first stage like this in the history of cycling. Weather conditions are part of the sport.

Kilómetro 145. La organización decide adelantar el final de etapa al km. 155, a 10 kms de la cima del Port Cantó, así que no se sube el Port Ainé, impracticable por la nieve.

The thing is that a lot of guys are here at least partly for training and have bigger hopes for the Ardennes, etc. Those guys wont want to risk a bad fall or getting a bad cold.
