Not to mention Menchov is relatively fast himself. If the break stayed away it was going to be between Urán and Menchov, and the question was whether anyone from the bunch could contend.
I was betting on Samu myself, but he lost his form somewhere on the last five km.

Uran sprinted for 300m maybe. That was very strong stuff

Indeed, it was a loooong sprint for Uran, specially impressive after being in front for almost 30 km (he did attack before the last breakaway)

Great work by Carrara and Kruijswijk. Yesterday all day in the break, today they made the front split. Chapeau.

That would be taking things a bit too far.

Great finish to the stage. Nice to see Uran actually get a win too.

Albasini was very lucky to find himself in a group with some strong teams. If Cunego, Martin, Hesjedal or any of the BMC riders had their climbing legs today, and therefore Garmin, Lampre and BMC hadn't all been working in numbers, the chase group would never have come back.

I assume there's nothing left in this race that can dislodge Albasini from top of the GC. Would that be right?

Didnt look like he celebrated, guess he might have lost his confidence after celebrating too early last year. Must have been knackered today at the finish, great ride with no team.

Not a Levi fan but he showed some signs today of breaking out of his old ways.

It's his only chance. Obviously in this race he can't use strong time trialing coupled with hanging in there on the other stages to get the win.

Doubtless he's one of a number of riders who were counting on yesterday causing the main time separations. So much for all that...

Samu used to be pretty fast like, I don't know, 8 years ago?
I dunno, i remember his finish last year with Bertie (i think?), he was all over the place and finished with his tongue in his shoulder literally :D

I guess that proves your point
