Jonas smothered the life out of that stage - made it clear he couldn't de dropped so in the end noone tried.
Cleary Remco needs to add upper body mass.....

nothing happened. they chose not to work with remco in penultimate round hoping remco would do the heavy lifting and hurt himself so they could capitalise. not bad tactics, but failed this time around. It never looked like remco would work alone today to me. so the usual tactic of eating remco his plate always looked like the wrong thing to do today. They would have finished higher had they worked and stayed ahead of the peloton, and kept their chance to win. Oh well, no telling how the cookie would crumble. But just as i felt pogacar would ride no matter what to keep the peloton away in san remo, i felt remco would not do so today. Not with Vingegaard there.

I don't know. Looked like to me, that Remco and Lipo were really trying to support each other, yeah, maybe not with the best plan, but generally speaking I guess it's a good experience for them riding their first tour together.

He wouldn't have been able to kiss his bike during a sprint, so he went for the safe option.
I don't know why people are getting excited. This doesn't tell us anything. He is not beating Pogacar in these races. May I remind people Vingegaard would cruise in the 2025 Dauphiné against any rider not named Pogacar?Vingegaard's perfomances the last 2 days gives us all hope for an exiting Tour.
But I'd like to remind everyone, that he did the exact same thing to everyone else at the Tour last year - except for Pogacar, who did it better and was down the road.
I'm hanging my hat on last year being ruined by the PN crash, to keep the faith alive - and ignoring that he is doing the double while Pogacar is not

Cause at least Vingegaard has proven to be in form. After all the 'people in the know' were already spelling the end of Jonas before the season. He is showing he will show up in fighting form. That's better than to have nothing to look forward to and watch Pogacar stroll to a Tour win with +15-20 minutes difference

Who are the people in the know? Haven't heard anything from them. Jonas is a ocean better than the rest not named Pogacar, but he will have a Giro in his legs. It's one thing Pogi managed to win both the Giro and the Tour.
