Agreed, but I guess we will have to decide on his potential in the next race.

The top 20 of today is quite a strange mix imo. A clear early season result and also clearly not a proper climb.

Benoot was up there. Beat Aru and Contador so you are probably right.

Yeah there's no excuse for this, it's just a really bad result. Not good enough

It seems all the guys that were first on the top of the Pomba finished around the same time. Without the coverage, difficult to know what happened exactly. Let's wait for the race comments.

Yup, power climb, strong winds and Contador first on Pomba. Who knows what happened? Maybe he simply was a little too overconfident in himself. Malhao will show where he stands.

Lets pray that it isn't the 2013 version, just struggling to get podium results, that would be a shame for the cycling world.

Well, I thing something happens to Alberto and other riders...other way, of course, it would be a very bad signal for him, but he said he was strong, motivated and today wanst a day for differences...he was the first in the previous climb, and later there was an important crash in the descent, so...

The natural position today of Contador is 3rd or 4rd with the same time.

If he was the first in the previous climb it was to ve safe in the descent, but something could happen

I don't think so, seems like the stage was raced super hard and when its the first race, stranger things have happened to the big stars.

People are reading too much out of these early performances. Contador is probably taking a different approach and I don't blame him. As for Uran the three times that he has been good at the Giro he has performed poorly previously in those years. So I was hoping for this as well.

If you look closely, AC seems to be struggling a lot on that point.

It would be crazy to loss so many time in less than 2 Km, except mechanical. I think he is not.

Many riders in front of him that are not better. He will get better and be perfect for the Tour.

I think he was actually at the front at that time, so I guess he just needs to settle in.
On Twitter, I first saw Contador was attacking or something, and then the next tweet was about a crash.
