I don't think that was great from Contador ...given that Thomas beat him about half a minute and Thomas trails Froome in TTs...Needs to improve for the Tour ...with Pinot & Izagirre ,etc beating him too

He is been training for months ...don't see the improvements needed here

I agree, expected better from Contador and whilst his results against some were ok I never expected him to get beat by Pinot. Just like yesterday's stage he should have finished ahead of some.
Don't be ridiculous. He got his arse handed to him in yesterday's MTF by non-climbers and today he was only 20-something seconds behind some great ITTers. He finished ahead of for example Zakarin, Vorobyev and Stannard who are also great ITTers.

Yes it wasn't too bad, but overall in the past 2 stages I expected better.

Exactly. But it's early. On the other hand, if we don't see a big step up at Paris-Nice, I fear the current crop has simply passed him. I thought he had it in him to repeat 2014 form, though he's certainly not there.

What if he's sick? If not, then he either got something wrong in his prep or the years have caught up to him.

Yeah sure ....these are the people he has ot beat in the Tour right

He needs to be better than the climbers .. especially how wonderful you all said he would be

It's clear he's not in incredible shape. Compared to yesterday's stage this was a good result.

I expected a little bit better from Thomas. Maybe 10 seconds faster but he did crash yesterday which can take a little bit of the edge off your ride even if there's no significant damage.

Still, being 3 seconds behind Martin isn't the end of the world considering he's missing Lopez and Kwiatkowski. Izagirre will still be a big threat on Malhao.

Yeah, if we want to judge his ITT performance we should look at the climbers and not the ITTers, great logic  and by the way he finished 44 seconds ahead of Aru.

Not bad, but definitely not great either by Contador. With yesterday's performance taking into consideration, I think its a good result, but Im still waiting for Malhao which should be the biggest measuring stick.

Looks like Thomas and Sky for the win...

What a surprise!

And now a PR classics rider is at the front on the climbs and TTs. That's insane!

F**k Sky.

yes always and forever
we're lucky Sky did not place 4 riders in the top 10 like Movistar
dont know if the CN servers would have dealt with the blow

Come on,don't overrate him now.He was good.Too bad for L.L.Sanchez it would have been a nice battle.

Ahead of the race we thought the ITT would be his biggest challenge considering the weight lost, but I agree right now we have to wait for Malhao. I think this result offers some hope after yesterday's shocker.

Aru is not a top TTer and is not challenging SKY for the Tour title ...Contador is
If you can't enter into a discussion about what is an obvious issue with Contador then maybe go back to his thread and continue to post pictures of his smiling face ...and post tweets about how he is the best and stay in cloud cukoo land

And yes he needs ot beat the top climbers on TT not the top TTers as they will not be an issue to his Tour ambitions..that's' the logic

Well last year he only lost 3 seconds to Malori and Martin on a similar length time trial in this race so it's fair to say he was a little bit under par. Decent ride though.

I love Sky more and more after those bitter comments. I hope Thomas takes this one and Poels RdS. :)

Please point out the top climbers that beat him today. Pinot finished 1 second ahead and then there's Thomas.
Also, I never said this was an incredible result and shows he is in great shape. Don't put words into my mouth. I only stated that in my opinion this is better than we could have hoped for after yesterday.
And in case you didn't know. Aru won the Vuelta and is the 4th favorite for the Tour, behind Froome, Quintana and Contador. Don't make it sound as if he's some third rate GC rider.

Edit: also, if you can't understand why it makes sense to compare a GC riders TT performance to that of TT specialists to figure out how well of a performance it was, I fear there is no point in arguing with you.

I never said anything of the such...Now who is putting words in people's mouths

And also stop talking down to people just because you are rattled

ALSO MODS ...I hope you are going to do somethig about the "F**K SKY " comment
Given you are so quick to sanction anyone who tackles the status quo on here

You posted
"If you can't enter into a discussion about what is an obvious issue with Contador"
To me that sounds as if you're claiming I refuse to admit there is an "obvious issue with Contador". That is simply untrue I just refuse to join you in your "OMG his performance was so bad Froome would have taken 10 minutes on him drool drool" Sky fan ***. Thank you that is all. Good afternoon.

Volta Algarve TT! We agreed to take it easy but when I noticed Contador started behind me… 400w Avg

Wonder how many W average Cancellara put out, any guesses?
