It was. He wants some extra racing before RVV and P-R. He misses out on G-W and E3, but he has already won G-W once and it's much more important to get into perfect shape before PR.

I wonder who he'll fearlessly follow in and jump for 3rd this year.

Is it though? I'd say a race like Gent-Wevelgem would be pretty good to win once again.

Indeed, but after getting sick in P-N and losing out on MSR he desperately needs another stage race in his legs. At least that's what he thinks. And he's usually pretty good at finding his form at the right time.

11th in Ruta, 8th in Murcia.
Decent form considering his broken leg 5th months ago, and he's still riding with an iron pin in his leg.

Would be good to do a top 10 in this field.

Yeah, I guess. Could be some good stages for him in Catalunya as well, him being about the fastest guy there. Get the BMC win tally going ;)

I'd say there are about 8 teams that on paper that are better than BMC but to say Hushovd is a 2nd tier sprinter is not really fair nor correct. Considering some of the profiles of these stages he certainly could win a stage or two. Not even you could deny that Ryo hazuki. With some of the other climbers in the team they could get some decent results here. TJVG cops are very tough time on here because supposedly 'everybody overhypes him' when the only people I hear over hype him are Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen. To say the BMC roster sucks is a far too stronger word to use but you seem to be the expert in hyperbolic comments. btw, some of you may want to notice the sentence after I posted the roster which was actually mocking the roster and BMC, my favourite team.

Also, the snide research comment was unnecessary. It was also different to my comment to Waterloo Sunrise because I think his comments were flawed about saying BMC were not a strong team.

In all honesty "a very strong roster" for Catalunya would include Evans and Gilbert in good form, not the lineup that was sent. As was mentioned, without a TT Vangarderen will be lucky to break the top ten in the gc.

what the hell no TT? Guess TJVG has no chance to win. Lots of climbers in BMC though, interesting to see how they do.

They never had TT at Volta  Imo makes it more intresting.

RSNT lineup:
Matthew Busche, Laurent Didier, Jakob Fuglsang, Ben Hermans, Tiago Machado, Thomas Rohregger, Andy Schleck & Oliver Zaugg

So no Horner, too bad. Seems Fuglsang and Machado should be the leaders. Hermans can grab some win on the hilly stages.

And by "never" you mean "last year."
Nope. The year before they did though (a prologue).

Andy Schleck will be the leader, obviously (at least in tv time ;))

That's what I meant, it always had an ITT except for last year, but it doesn't translate well in strictly semantic terms because "never" is a negation and "last year" isn't. :p

Very strong startlist!

Nice list of B-climbers besides Hushovd who is not a climber at all.

Edit: Hmm should've read the entire thread first. Post got enough bashing allready :D

Well, I can't recall the last time there was a flat ITT of decent length in the Volta. Sometime in the mid 90's probably.

I was irritated too, when i checked out Radioshacks line-up for catalunya on their own homepage, but considering the fact, that he's listed on the official race site should ensure, horner is riding this one.
Thankfully.:) Should be a very nice, competitive week of racing.

I mean decent length as in 20km or so. The one in 2006 was 12 something. De Panne has a longer TT than that.

The line up on the team website is usually the right one...
