Thought the breakaway had it with 15 kms to go, seeing they were riding with a tailwind and their were only two or three teams that wanted a sprint -
MS has done lots of work this week for no success - They spent the last two days chasing the break and earlier unsuccessfully chased De Gendt, yet when the team was needed on the Queen stage they were nowhere to be seen - I suggest they follow the peleton tomorrow and you may get lucky.

After the stage Alejandro was talking about cold it was and with the rain and temperatures at 0 that was a much bigger issue than the wind. He said that he was frozen during the stage and that all they were trying to do was stay safe. He had no idea the peloton had even split until the car told him on the radio. He was also saying that the rain and cold made the descents extremely dangerous and that just getting through the stage safely was the only goal of the day. Tomorrow in Barcelona is supposed be around 10, so that even if it rains it won't matter because they won't be frozen.

Chaves crashed and is out of the race...

His start been awful this season. Both P-N and this stage race been very disappointing.
His Paris-Nice was very good. Better than ever at this point of the season.

He never raced P-N before this year? And he did not finish... and was far behind in GC for his caliber before the last stage.

He was 63 in GC here, before this stage.

I would not say that is "better than ever at this point of the season" ...

Did you watch the race? Prior to getting ill, he was a sure top 10 finish and did very well in a time trial of all places. Before and after the stage to Vence he crashed, got sick and it started raining a lot, which isn't exactly his forté. He was never that good in March.
