Ayuso lack of experience showed here. The kid is allowed to make mistakes though.

I think the bad tactics land on the DS here. What have they been doing? Shouldnt have let Soler drag the peloton for that long without someone else helping.

On the last climb. Ayuso should have drilled it from early if he was strong today. Obviously he was by this ride on the descent that seemed desperate more than anything. Then waiting. Just weird.

I expect Higuita to lead the duo the last km until the sprint, but no gifts.
I think so too. He will take all jerseys anyway, but GC is still too close to gift away 8s to Carapaz (and potentially those attacking him tomorrow)

Ayuso waiting makes no sense. He had 30 seconds on the Nairo group and was looking crazy strong and the peloton can't even catch Nairo's group. He could have been in a better position in 3rd than Almeida is going to be
UAE have forgotten how to deal with not having the strongest rider in the race. I joked about it a few days back but at this rate it's actually true.

I'm late to the party today, how did this happen
Higuita and Richie got away with like 130k to go. Plapp was with them and worked for awhile, got dropped, and ultimately DNF'd. Very little flat road, weather was terrible, riders were suffering and UAE only had a couple riders trying to pull them back. UNO-X and Bahrain started helping a little but it was far too late.
