I wonder how many lives were saved by canceling the bonus seconds.

It seemed very weird what happened today, what with the helicopter being perfectly capable of being in the air and no discernible wind to see (I only turned in shortly before they actually began to race so if there were images before that who showed more wind, fair enough). But the entire route seemed quite sheltered.
The wind calmed down during the day, and it was worse to the north of the altered route. I now think that the riders threatened a strike or some other stupid ***. They could probably have done the first alternative, at least with a finish in Berga.

Contador de la 6a etapa.

So I turned on the TV later than usual thinking they'd probably have another half hour to race only to see Lynyrd Skynyrd win and do the El Pistolero - ugh!

I'm still catching up with today's happenings - what a bizarre day in the world of cycling today is! I wouldn't even know how to explain it...
The stage tomorrow in Barcelona starts in 16 hours and finishes in 18 hours from now.

The finish should always have been in Berga to begin with, but no Pradell no party (I fortunately haven't been following this stage - or the lack of it).
Had the riders been willing to play ball, they would have had many options for a Berga finish without Pradell while only using little unplanned road.
I think he should have gone for the stage, cause it was there for the taking.
Absolutely. But I assume that he mentally wasn't in it today.

I just heard the director of the race and He blamed some of the riders. He said that in today's world if only a handful don't want to race then the race is ruined. He said that the riders did not meet the other part of the bargain of the negotiations. He had responsibilities with the TV and the businesses and if only a few idiots don't want to race then the UCI and and other people get scare that is something happens then it becomes a problem.

The fact that the helicopter was perfectly functioning tells you that they could race the 2 circuits perfectly. Wtf. They need to discuss this in more detail because there was a lot of confusion for only a few idiots.

Rubèn Peris interview.

If the commissaires give the organisers a clear mandate and judge the parcours safe to race, they should totally disregard the riders. Throw potential saboteurs out of the race.

Agreed. It's very problematic that riders increasingly abuse this.
