The wind calmed down during the day, and it was worse to the north of the altered route. I now think that the riders threatened a strike or some other stupid ***. They could probably have done the first alternative, at least with a finish in Berga.I wonder how many lives were saved by canceling the bonus seconds.
It seemed very weird what happened today, what with the helicopter being perfectly capable of being in the air and no discernible wind to see (I only turned in shortly before they actually began to race so if there were images before that who showed more wind, fair enough). But the entire route seemed quite sheltered.
