After the stage, Froome was philosophical about his performance but keen to stress the positives.

He told TeamSky.com: "The team were super strong all day but unfortunately we didn't finish the job off in the final. This is my first race back at WorldTour level and I'm still finding my legs.

"Tomorrow is a new day though and we've still got a lot to race for with myself, Geraint and Wout still in contention.

"It's been great being back with the guys again. There's a great atmosphere in this team and hopefully we can build on that. We've still got a few days to go and we want to play a part in this race."

Ominous words. We shall see as I wouldn't be surprised about anything Sky pulls out of the hat. For me though, I saw today who is going to win the TDF. And he isn't Kenyan or Spanish;)

Today is dificult to see something important about le Tour.
Tomorrow yes, but no big conclusions anyway.
In Dauphine more.

I think Tejay and Porte are going to be big contenders, but this is not le Tour.

Tejay was really strong becouse it wanst the best day for him.

Not sure where Hugh Carthy learnt to climb like that, was in the year below me at school, and Preston isn't exactly the dolomites, sans the vast swathes of barren wasteland

Mollema started quite late at cyling and he was climbing very well from the begining. and his town in totally flat. He took some time to learn to descent, but climb is genetic.

There is not climbs as well around Cesenatico.

Preston is flat but it has its ups and down close.

Best whises to your school mate.

They have also finished together several times on stages. It will be very interesting to see what Zakarin can do this year.

I didnt know this rider...http://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/rider_palm.asp?riderid=21014&year=2015&all=1&current=0

Another one to follow, what he did today at 21 is something to take into account.

Hugh is a beast, he took step to move to Spain a step most english speakers would never consider, he can climb with anyone on his dayy going get better
He was up with the likes of Dennis in the US Pro Challenge last year. As well as being the last rider to be brought back from the breakaway on one those really tough days, with 20% climbs at the finish, in the Tour of the Basque Country last year.

bertie to finish it off with about 15-20 sec gap. nairito and froome to finish 2nd and third. don't know why but i expect a strong showing from dan martin too. hopefully, he'll be able to keep a podium spot.
