Should Sky send him Stage hunting in the Vuelta?

Doubt it, considering how little Landa raced so far, anything other than proper Giro-Vuelta attempt would be a failure considering his pay, so yea I think he'll be slaving for Mikel. But of course if Mikel fails, Poels is fantastic for some stages indeeed.

Swift 10th. It's like he's aiming for that most top-10s without a win. Really hope he can do something tomorrow.

What's Landa's pay then ??

There are a few others also in the wings both for GC and stages at the Vuelta ...esp given the parcours

Literally impossible. Contador will probably try, but Movistar should *** majorly up if they allow Contador anything. Hopefully Quintana has this in his back by now!

People here are seriously under estimating Dan Martin's climbing abilities.

He is an explosive climber rather than a mere puncheur and his inability to win GT's is due to his very poor recovery as well as his poor Time Trialling.

And the fact that he is nothing more than a 2-3rd tier climber

Do you see Purito as a 2nd -3rd tier climber as well?

Purito in top form is climber of the highest caliber. Purito in decent form is 2nd tier climber, which is still one level above Dan Martin!

"Swifty was caught in no-man's land in between bunch and break for a long time but made a huge effort to get across the gap before the top as my Welsh team-mate Geraint Thomas was caught up in a crash in the peloton." Nicolas Roche in his blog on stage 4. So this explains his 14:33 and his DNS the next day.

Out: Lasada,Hansen, Meier

Another bonus and he is on the podium.
Reckon he will finish 2nd in the end.

Only if he wins the stage tomorrow and Contador is out of the top 3. Plus he would need at least two seconds from a bonus sprint tomorrow with Contador, again not taking a single second... It is just strange that Bardet could outsprint Contador for bonuses... Even though Alberto is a terrible sprinter. Handling Bartdet shouldn't be much of a problem...

Let's hope for some wind today at the end. Then Tinkoff and Etix could do something. Quintana said yesterday he expects a calm day today and he was surprised yesterday that there was agressive racing. It could be a massacre tomorrow. Quintana doesn't fare best when racing gets tough.

Bardet is pretty fast. I have no idea where Berto finished in that sprint, he could have been 20th.

I reckon Bardet is a pretty explosive guy for a pure climber, dno if thats true.

Vakoc (Etixx), Chaves (Orica), Ten Dam (Giant), Domont (AG2R), Hesjedal (Trek), Lindeman (Lotto NL), Howes (Cannondale), Meyer (Dimension Data), Molard, Hardy (Cofidis) and Minnaard (Wanty) in the breakaway.

3'30" over the peloton.

Don't see which team is gonna close this gap. Not a lot of sprinterteams (EQS & Orica have someone in the break) left so... Maybe IAM & Kathusha.
