You missed stage 10 :p

Anyway, for what I understood this is just a route (based on rumours) made by a spanish poster.

lol, so that would be:

Lobeira
Fisterra
Jaca
Burgos
Naranco

As short uphill finishes, Pena Cabarga and Gallina are only 6km and 8km respectively.

Funniest route yet if it were true.

that would be the most ridiculous GT route in cycling history lol

was it made by purito himself?

it's hilariously pathetic

p.s. also deleted that huge picture that was messing up the entire page.

I thought TDF 2012 was crap and it is hard to make route which is worse. However, this one is beyond crap...

Well, you left the best stage out

For me, this is the best one (the Asturian one, as usual) :p

I would like to say "San Lorenzo" is a climb of Special Category and Alto de Campa Dosango a First Category. So it would be a stage with 2 climbs of second category, 3 of first category and 1 of Special category. Not really long climbs but with a big porcentage.

That would actually be a pretty decent route.

I wonder what reasons you guys have to bash this route.

Please don't tell me this is the route.
Or like the Hitch said we will have Gilbert, Sagan, EBH competiting for GC victory:eek:

Even on stages like these neither Gilbert nor Sagan would hit top-10. Though, remembering 07-08 vueltas, such a parcours wouldn't be a huge surprise. Pena Cabarga instead of Angliru + a bit of hills = Great route! :D

What's up with the bashing, I like it, although some mountainstages could be more decisive.

Did you really think the entire route would leak 2 months early?

If this is indeed the route then I will be the first one to congratulate Purito on his first GT win! :p

Of course Gilbert isn't going to win this GT.

There only needs to be one HC finish for him to be out of contention. He's focusing on classics, not on GC.

Again, I fail to see how this route should favour Purito. Most of the main climbs aren't exactly Purito-like.

The tt seems quite hard actually.

I thought that as well. Sierra Nevada descent finish and nice Asturias stage with lots of climbing.

COuld do with an extra 2 mountain stages though.

Not that i expect a full route discovered 3 months before schedule to be the real thing.

It would be a soft route, even by Vuelta standards. It looks like an U23 race to me. Lots of false flat in the key mountain stages, too, and not too many hard climbs at all.

All in all, a Vuelta that can easily be controlled by the teams battling it out for the overall. That is never a good thing.

Sierra Nevada descent finish

Only the first section of Sierra Nevada is steep. The rest of the climb is easy and exposed. The descent is straightforward as well. It won't lead to anything, IMO.

Maybe I'm just defending that proposed route because it includes Collado de las Sabinas, which is my particular obsession, but having this as the finish of the last decisive stage looks very appealing to me:

Pardon me??

Do you consider this to be "easy"??

Let's not forget Vino won a Vuelta on that straightforward descent.
