Seems that way, I thought Trek would have gone a bit better here though; they seem to have more rouleurs in their squad than most teams, who are just stacked with climbers.

I cannot remember a race recently where Contador hasn't played catchup. This was expected tho..

I thought they would have been a bit better too, they seemed a little disorganized in the last 2k and if it were not for Contador trying to keep them together their time would have been much worse.

I was expecting Nibali to loose 20ish sec. to Froome today so all is good. Great Orica and Sunweb in line with expectations. Contador to attack on stage 3, Aru is on holiday with Bardet.

They could have taken it without him, but why should they take risks for a sake of it on narrow hassle route. It's tad early you know..

We'll see in a couple weeks how it shakes out.
