Looks like Froome wants the stage win anyway

Yep, if Sky want there will be no more than 10 guys starting in front Calar Alto, out if which 2 of Froome's teammates.

Well, he must feel extremely confident.

The weather's adding a value to this stage.
Instead of a "regular" high mountain stage, it can become a decider for many.

Welcome to the driest region of Spain.

Joker-plan before the stage: We have to keep our GC guys out of too much trouble.

The gap steadied for a while but now Orica have come to the front, expecting something from them today after a quiet start.

Orica might go berserk on Velefique like on the Agnello last year. Would be amazing.

I'm hoping the weather throws up something unpredictable today. But hope all stay safe. Looks ghastly out there.

Portal just said that they aren't really interested in the stage.
Well, they're keeping the gap steady, so that may be true.
My point is that Froome said the opposite.
Oh I didn't know

Froome: "A good opportunity to fight for the stage victory"

Chris Froome (Team Sky) announced during yesterday's press conference he was interested in the victory at Calar Alto: “Tomorrow is a good opportunity maybe for us to fight for the stage victory, so maybe it's not such a good day for the breakaway. I don't know the climb at all. I'll have to ask Alberto Contador about it. It's his training area, he knows it very well. But I imagine with it being the first very high mountain finish, we'll see a very aggressive race towards the final and certainly guys like Alberto Contador will want to try and make up time. I imagine Alberto will be very aggressive.”
Team Sky maintain the gap around 4'20" with 70km to go.
Now you do :)

Pozzovivo out of the race
The only impact by Manzana on the race so far. I was hoping he would help Nibali later in the race.
