Dry today. MASSIVE rain forecasts for tomorrow though. Holy ****.

How massive ? "Irma-lite" or same as on Murcian stages ?
Could be a gamechanger.

"Sir Dave Brailsford neutralize the stage" bad

Just checked again, it won't be nearly as massive. There will be some rain, roads will be wet probably, but not as I had hoped. Got myself too excited too fast.

So massive we see Contador and Nibali attack into the storm on Cobertoria. Then don't see get any pictures for well over an hour until they appear on the fixed camera at the finish without Froome and we all start counting back with no idea how far back down the road he is....

I will spare you a few hours; we all know how the rodeo ends.

- Today's stage goes to the break
- Every attack by a GC contender will be brought back by Sky
- Froome avoids significant time losses today
- Froome clinches the Vuelta tomorrow

Enjoy your weekend!

Re: Vuelta 2017 stage 19 Caso (Parque de Redes) - Gijón 149.

Matteo Trentin do want to earn the green jersey so I expect QS to control this stage by allowing not much time to the breakaway. In the other hand QS could let Trentin to try to be in front, difficult choice.

You can watch it here:
https://www.eltiempo.es/riosa.html?v=por_hora

Possibility of rain: 90 %
Anyway, it's expected a rain but not a massive rain.

Mas or Carapaz please. But probably Yates.

Yes, Yates is twice as likely as Mas or Carapaz :)

Trentin wouldn't be able to compete with the GC riders on that final climb - he needs to get in the break to score points today

Cycling is so beautiful sport among other things because of his unpredictability. I would be delighted if you could see it already on Saturday.

Contador needs about 2 minutes to get on the podium and he has the legs. I expect some action even today but tomorrow it will be mayhem, lots of riders dragged in the open for a mano a mano fight

I tried to picture it in my mind, but since it involved Nibali, I kept seeing Santambrogio

Trek putting Pantano and Theuns in the break. Contador may be planning something here today.
