Accoding to google maps the stage includes 3800m of climbing. If Sagan gets to the finish in the peloton they've raced like 2016.

No team has intention to hold break in leash. Sagan thinks break will take it so Bora will not chase and I think Movistar wont either. If this is TDF stage I am 100% sure he would be in the break but with his preparation mode and his accidentally in green situation he wont.

That was ages ago....should be back by now

I guess if the peloton is trying to keep him at bay they will have to ride hard all day ...could be a top stage..otherwise why ride hard now ?

Have you seen the speed they're racing with? As soon as the right break forms and the peloton gives a go, he should return.

The right thing to do. You don't bury a rider because of a mechanical early in the stage when the race is not on (well, for the break it's on, but that's different of course).
