I hope Pinot has some friends in there, if he can persuade the group to work this could be brilliant for him.

Interesting break with almost a minute away already. Pinot, Haig, Mollema, Majka and Henao included.
And yet if you ook at the parcours you have to favour Fraile or Teuns who are more interesting

My last post and your reply crossed :D

It is very powerful break and Pinot might win really big if he can hang on.

Strange, they don't let any break go, but a break with Pinot is okay?

I wouldn't make the assumption that they let it go. 2 hours at ~50kph with two cat 3s isn't easy. They may have had no choice, something had to give at that pace.

The stage has been ridden full gas for 100k. You can't counter every break.

Too bad Nibali didn't make the break though he definitely had intentions. Would've been nice add to that group.

Movifail?

I mean, yeah they can't chase every break for 200kms, but this one maybe they should have chased...

Interesting games in peloton. Sky, Bora and even Mitchelon have no burning reason to chase the break. Probably everyone waiting for Movistar to start burning their matches. Pinot might win Vuelta today.

4:30?

This is even sillier than the time Chaves was gifted on the Etna stage. Of course, that ended not being very much in the end, but they aren't closing four and a half minutes on this group.

Mitchelton no burning reason?

Well looking at from their perspective, Haig is already virtual #2 in the GC. Of course we don't know how high they would rate his chances at the end. All that warrants a bit of gamble with Movi.

Movi looking at MS, MS looking at Astana, Astana looking at Movi, meanwhile Pino wins the Vuelta.

MS has Haig (20th at 4'29 on GC) in front.
But I don't think the break will stay grouped for a long time. Half of them (Majka, Haig, Fraile, Pelizotti, Henao, Rolland, Anacona) won't work at all.
