Can the UCI please ban Kruijswijk for life? He's constantly working for other teams. Either he's the dumbest cyclist in existence or he's being paid off. He also made sure Froome made the podium at the Tour this year, at the cost of his own team-mate.

He does this to troll you.

Movistar wouldn't allow Yates to Purito them again.
Never underestimate their tactical ineptitude.

Their tactics kept Quintana from loosing more time than he should have.

To think that Quintana could have taken anything today is to ignore the downswing he is on.

He could led that group through final descent, so Valverde could out sprint Yates. This way they both lose seconds. I think he's buying his ticket out from the Movistar at this Vuelta...

Yates looks too strong. But the same could be said of his Giro performance at this point. Chapeau Thibault Pinot! Tuesday will be a big day to set up the final contenders.

Yates was noticeably below peak in the first week (prologue and punchy finish both a few positions lower than his best), so if he can't fix his 3rd week it won't be for the want of trying.

but if that is true then their tactics are even worse than imagined becasue they are riding for a man who cant win then!!!!!!!

It kind of feels Quintana is banking for Yates having that 1/2 bad days in the 3rd week.

He might be right.

Definitely feels that way, it’s a dangerous game to play though.
How come it isn't obvious to you (and everybody else) that he just couldn't do more? There is no game being played, it depends on legs. And he doesn't have it and therefore Valverde shouldn't help him since Valverde himself as a better chance of winning at this point.

Idk why Pisti is still sprouting nonsense. Probably pissed off Kruijswijk hasn't dropped for good like all Belgians do in every race that goes uphill for longer than 5km.

Lopez finally doing something else than attacking/stopping or wheelsucking. For the love of god FINALLY.
Quintana on the other hand... just retire please

He's trolling his own career and the careers of his team-mates.

I was told Quintana would massacre everyone and attack?

It was bizarre - he had the legs to defend every attack on the way up, but never attacked himself and died in the last 200m
He looked tire. If he doesn't have it he doesn't have it. He used some help in some of the defense from the attacks. It wasn't just him alone.

It's going to be an exciting final week. I'm kinda pulling for Yates to get the win, after that epic fail at the Giro. Would love to see Valverde up there too. I hope Quintana finishes off of the podium. I just don't understand his style of racing. Bring on the time trial!

Yeah, nonsense. I don't give a *** about Kruijswijk, he's a loser that will never win anything big. What I do care about is him bringing back Valverde without ever asking him to pull. Then Valverde jumps from behind and drops him like a rock. He did the same in the Tour with Froome, at the expense of Roglic.

He's either dumb or paid off, pick your poison.

My point also including his service to Valverde, he could absolutely have done more today for his teammate, instead they both lost more time to Yates and Lopez.

If Yates has a bad day they could both lose to Lopez, like I said, it’s a dangerous game to play.

exactly my thoughts - He's likely betting everything on the 17th & penultimate stages, BUT If Yates fades, the problem for Quintana is Superman Lopez, who seems to be stronger, so that gamble is not fully thought out well IMO...

Or he was smart enough to figure out, that Valverde had a teammate in front, and therefore no reason to help him.

It's obvious Valverde is riding to win the Vuelta.
