What dominance by Valverde. Good to see him not just relying on the sprint to win as well. Looks in great form.

Congrats to Valverde. The finish by his measure, but Sky and Kwiatko made it more selective than expected.
It's going to be interesting to see who's going to be who's choice for the GC after today's speeding.

Bala owned Kwia there.
Kwiatkowski owned himself
For someone with the bike smarts of Kwiatkowski, that... wasn't great.
Nah, he had to try to gap Valverde before the final steep 100m. No way he could come round him on that final steep corner.

Very very impressive from De Plus.

Sky's blistering pace actually benefited Valverde more than Kwiatkowski I guess.

Reminded me of LBL 2015, when Moreno was up front and Valverde had to close the gap alone before the last left hand turn in Ans. Still won the sprint

Yeah, good call, was very similar the way he took control. I guess the competition is weaker here and obviously its a lot easier race than LBL, but still - promising signs regarding his form.

That was awesome. I was sure he'd left it too late.

Imagine how much better the Tour de France would be if they had a stage like this in the first few days. Thinning out the GC pretenders immediately, while providing entertainment right from the start.
