SKY don't seem to want to ride for red ???

Don't have any firepower in this race. If they did then on this stage Kwiatkowski could have gained some time attacking over the top and using his crazy descending skills :/

I can't see TGBM (Are we still allowed to call him that?) dropping the other 2 on this run-in unfortunately.

If I have seen a pseudo defence of a leaders jersey before.... lots of wasted watts by Sky today for no reason at all. None.

Molard and Pernsteiner are only at around 4 minutes...
From their perspective, it might be okay to concede the red jersey to Molard today, but not okay to let Bauke Mollema gain 7 minutes and get within podium range. That's what I meant by 'upper limit' supposing they are indifferent to keeping the red jersey at this early stage of the Vuelta

1'15 for Molard to get the leader's jersey. Going to be tight unless the peloton completely gives up because they have no chance to win anymore.

I think they'd be fine with losing the jersey now and relieving themselves of the pressure to defend it so early in the race.

If I were a pro, I'd so love to be in a break with Mollema.
do you think the people who lost to him in the 2017 TDF breakaway stage think that?

or Valverde and Rodriguez who lost to him in San Sebastian 2016

Mollema not the best rider for these kind of stage finishes, psychically or tactically

Technically at that point (when he won) they were not in the break with him any longer. :p

He's consistently gotten into spots where it's impossible to win. Tactics were okay today.

He didn't do this kind of stuff as often in the past but in the last 1.5 months he managed to f*ck up his tactics three times which is pretty much every time he did anything of note. Considering the mechanical he probably couldn't have won anyway but still not attacking the other two on that climb was a more than questionable tactic

Molleme nearly killed himself getting back to the leading two after the puncture - Sometimes I feel people are watching fantasy cycling.
