In a fantasy world, what would be the most disfunctional team you could conjure up?
I just want everybody riding for themselves, no fetching water or doing pulls. Bonus points if they don't get along on a personal level aswell.
I think it might Brandon McNulty winning the opening TT staying in red after Villuercas. While neither Ayuso, Almeida or Yates have any intention to end up working for him.

So Almeida encourages Ayuso to be the regicide as he's the bad guy anyway and with him in red they at least win the 2024 Vuelta a Espana.

The bad thing is: That conspiracy theory theoretically could end up being truth! 😄

Did I miss something?

I have this feeling that Ayuso will ride in the Vuelta despite what Gianetti said, but I could of course be wrong. Who knows!

This looks about right and could be a repeat of the jumbo drama last vuelta

I was a bit surprised about his TdF. If you see for example Landa, then you wonder about the difference to Mas (who is in best GC GT age).

Movistar Team is so professional and all. Now Enric has to wait for TdF 2025, and Vuelta 2024…
Look at Mae’s season so far and his lead up to the TdF. He came in way undercooked and after the early Galibier stage decided to save himself for an all out assault on the Vuelta.

LOL. Now Director calling UAE to include Ayuso. This sounds like it is all staged.

Saw social media helping Kuss win GC, now trying to use it for Ayuso to come. Wait till he does and Adam and Almeida are ahead and the Director calls for them to let Ayuso lead due to them finishing the Tour.

I don't think he has, but I just figured it really wouldn't fit. But who knows - I'll make "unlikely" as well. Maybe Logic can enlighten us.
Sorry, just discovered this topic. Evenepoel is rumoured to ride Britain to prepare for the WCC, which would mean no Vuelta obviously.
Also, i see Van Wilder mentioned as "likely", but i don't know if that is just a hunch you had, or if you heard/read something. I heard a few months ago that he wasn't supposed to ride two GT's this year. But that was back in the spring.

Also, in his videocall with Cyclingmole this week, Jorgenson said he would not ride the Vuelta IIRC.

So do Guillen and RTVE really not have 2 mil. euros to pay to Pogacar and UAE to show up at the Vuelta? ASO won't give a single cent because they think they are bigger than the sport and it is bellow their level to pay an appearance fee. If the Vuelta organisers give money to Pog to go to their race they will make 5 times that in revenue because the whole world will be watching Tadej's attempt to go in the history books.

Alright, thanks. Figured Remco was very, very low change. Ilan was just a hunch, could be he wanted to redeem himself a bit after a mediocre Tour and maybe go for a stage in a race where there are infinite opportunities for that.

Maybe Gianetti's words of saving Tadej for the future was just another form of "How much can you pay"?
Maybe after his vacation Teddy will become hungry for another GT, we will see!
