Vingegaard was coming out of a brutal Tour, just check what the top 10 of the Tour have been doing since then, which is practically nothing. It wasn't obvious at various times in the bike race.
I'm portuguese but there were a lot of portuguese fans saying Almeida could beat Vingegaard. Insane! That was very obvious even before this Vuelta
Of course, but it wasn't obvious that Jonas would win. Where would we be if the TT wasn't shortened?Vingegaard was coming out of a brutal Tour, just check what the top 10 of the Tour have been doing since then, which is practically nothing.
RB shouldn't have made him race the TdF.A fresh Roglic would have made this Vuelta much better
A 25 seconds smaller gap.Where would we be if the TT wasn't shortened?
Maybe a smaller GC gap today, but it's a fact that Almeida never dropped Vingegaard at any point in this VueltaOf course, but it wasn't obvious that Jonas would win. Where would we be if the TT wasn't shortened?
What is proper opposition? There is not a single rider in the peloton able to threat Pogacar or Vingegaard in a GT.Amazing Vingegaard. He made it clear that he is a level above all else.
Even tired, he's clearly the strongest overall in 3 week races, other than Pogacar.
Victory well deserved.
Great job by João Almeida. He's a fantastic domestique but he has a lot to learn and evolve if he ever wants to win a GT against proper opposition.
Pidcock punching above his weight. Bravo for podium.
Nice to see Kuss and Hindley back in great form.
Riccitello very surprising.
Primoz Roglic would produce a masterpiece of minimalism.A fresh Roglic would have made this Vuelta much better
