This is a good Vuelta finale and Bola del Mundo is one of the hardest climbs used by Vuelta in modern times (after Angliru, Gamoniteiru and Cuitu Negru). Let's hope protestors from Madrid won't block Navacerrada destroying this stage completely! UAE & Almeida will try to crack Vingo while Bora & Hindley will try to crack Pidcock so we should have some interesting action. Both of those will be hard to achieve but I think it's more likely that Pidcock will be broken (than Vingo).

Wind predectiction is pure east - so nearly pure cross on Navacerrada and block tailwind on the Bola del Mundo

The UAE stage hunters make a clean sweep of the stage podium. In the peloton, Almeida distances Vingegaard by 40 seconds, but loses the race by bonus seconds.
Setting up for a final sprint between Almeida and Vingegaard in Madrid for all the marbles, only for Almeida to not show up.

I hope Bora and UAE set a hard pace all day and Hindley and Almeida attack together gaining enough time for 1st and 3rd.

The entire top-10 on GC to stay in the same position. < 15 seconds between Almeida and Vingegaard on the stage.

Vingegaard should drop 30 seconds to Almeida on purpose to sow dissention in the UAE ranks, and because it would be funny.

Chain reaction: Teddy fires all teammates except Almeida & Politt and at the next Tour UAE starts with 3 riders against Visma & Bora dream-teams.

Don't think so, Vingegaard will just follow Almeida's wheel until very late even if he is the stronger of the two.
I think it makes more sense to do your own race than stick on Almeida's wheel. Not attack necessarily, but if Hindley attacks with 5km to go follow Pidcock as long as he doesn't go over his limit. If Almeida gets distanced so be it, but it probably won't tire out Vingegaard.

Almeida and Vingegaard are not getting dropped by Hindley before the final 3.3k ramp. Vingegaard is not losing 2:43 to Hindley in 3.3 kilometres.

I think Vingegaard is confident enough that he will just attack if he feels good. He'll know it's in the bag cause he's not losing 40s to Almeida on a good day, and I really think he will want to win another stage after missing out on the Angliru.

Vingegaard has one job: follow Almeida. So that's what he'll do. If it turns out he really has good legs he'll try something, maybe in the final 2 or 3 k, but other than that his objective seems pretty clear.

Almeida has negative powers of acceleration, don't forget that. Almeida would obviously catch up with Hindley pre Bola, but I don't see the point in following Almeida's wheel if he gets gapped.

Yes, because Vine wins, Soler is second and Ayuso 3rd just in front of Almeida.
