If a gap of less than a minute between number one and two in the GC before stage 20 is boring, then it must be hard for you to find a grand tour that isn't boring. Or is it a matter of personal preference regarding the top riders?
Let's be honest, it was not the most exciting race. But the Vuelta almost never is, it's always a bit of an afterthought. And like I said, people on this forum are almost never satisfied, so the comment "most boring race ever" is essentially meaningless.

I am too. He was impressive in this race. It would have been closer if his team put in a unified effort in support.
Today and on Angliru they did support him, but arguably on these days it didn't make much of a difference. Without them Visma would probably have done the same.

Ultimately this race was won on a finish where they were caught napping, and that's what happens to them quite regularly.

Only 1 rider on the globe can beat Vingegaard on grand tours (at least for the moment) and he ain't here..

Reckon its positive that they close the final 1km today, as it's gotta throw a wrench into one's motivation, not least on a final like this.
Imagine being stopped on this turf with acid from top to toe and everything is cooking on you, & you have to wait for the road to be cleared, and then trying to get the momentum going again, - and it sadly goes without saying' that Vingegaard would be one of the favorites for such actions, as it would equal max publicity doing it on the leading one.

So when he could see the no-spectator free area, and had some assurance.. he took it..Deserved win.

Well, most of the time small gaps indicate a boring GT indeed.
Obviously there are the odd chances that we get a proper GT with plenty of attacks, bad days, coming back and a small gap after stage 19, but that wasn't the cass.
